This may look like a regular old house to some, but to me as well as many other women it represents much more than that. This image of the CSU Pi Beta Phi house represents the cognitive theory of salience because knowing the object of this picture and why it is relevant adds personal interest.

Cognitive and computational neuroscientist Anil Seth is recognized as among the 0.1% most impactful scientists in terms of publications. A recurring TED speaker, he will start off the day by dissecting the “purely human” vs the machine: Where does creativity start, where does it come from? Can computers be creative at all?

Students who are cognitively impaired focus on a curriculum that is functional and community-based. Much emphasis is placed on daily living skills so that they may contribute to society to the greatest extent possible. The Growing Green Garden will allow students to design, create and maintain a garden right on campus as part of their education. They will put theory (what they're learning in class) into practice as they use many skills to complete this project. Students will learn where food comes from, practical math skills as they will use the fruits/vegetables to prepare meals. They will use measurement skills. They will learn responsibility, job and life skills as a result of this project. This will bring them closer to nature, and allow them to interact with each other in a socially meaningful and physically productive way. Students will also feel part of the mainstream because their garden will be positioned for the entire school to see.

Companion services, also known as personal care or personal assistance, is a service that provides support to individuals with disabilities, including those with acquired brain injuries (ABI), to help them with activities of daily living. The specific services offered through companion services can vary, but may include things such as assistance with dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting, as well as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and transportation. Companion services are typically provided by trained caregivers, who may work for a home care agency or be self-employed. The goal of companion services is to help individuals with disabilities maintain their independence and live as safely and comfortably as possible in their own homes or community.

"Raise the world's vibration by spreading kindness and positivity through your actions and words." D.M.

"Art activates the brain and beautifies the soul, leading to a more fulfilling and meaningful life."

ABI RESOURCES

Art has been shown to have a number of positive effects on the brain, including reducing stress, improving mood, and increasing cognitive function. For example, viewing art has been found to lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol, while also increasing activity in the areas of the brain associated with pleasure and reward. Additionally, engaging in art-making activities, such as painting or drawing, has been found to improve fine motor skills and increase creativity. Some studies also suggest that art therapy, which combines art-making with psychotherapy, can be effective in treating mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.

ABI Resources works with multiple organizations, including DSS, DMHAS, WWP, CCC, CCCI, SWCAA, WCAAA, Allied, Yale, UConn, Gaylord, HFSC, and more to provide the best care for individuals.

ABI Resources’ commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive community for clients is well known. They offer a variety of team-building activities, social events, and volunteer opportunities to help clients stay engaged and connected with others. This not only helps clients recover from their injuries but also helps them build friendships, create social connections, and gain a sense of belonging.

hese maps are just the beginning of many I wish to make. I do lots of walking, but not so much leisurely walking (in the sense of a country side stroll), more like walking to town to town, village to village. I have attempted to draw these maps right afterwards, visually the area as I draw the route I walked, in order to remember my emotions and things I saw whilst walking.

If not to anyone else, I find this deeply informative to myself. It’s like when I look back on what I have written the landscape reveals its true identity to me; something an A-Z or Google map could never do. It also made me realise that there is something to be gained conceptually from any walk. Not just a walk through the most tourist-friendly spots on earth.
