Our robot for the first lab project. We redesigned it 'slightly'. Slow, steady, with a high gear ratio. We ended up making it about 3/4 of the way through the maze.
The Cog Railway is a railway which goes up to the Mount Washing Summit in NH. The "cog" of the train can climb up a track with a 30 degree positive slope. Mt. Washington is the highest mountain peak of the Northeast. The summit comes in at 6288 feet. This is a must view attraction in NH. It's a trip to the moon, oh that's was said already. Must visit! Worth the trip! What a memory!
the new cog is on the left, and the old, worn cog is on the right. The photo shows the inboard side of the cogs. The chain pressed against the right side of the cog's teeth, and you can see a slight concave shape to that part of the tooth. This causes the chain to encounter resistance as it rotates onto and off of that tooth.

(I mean, the winch is old, not the fisherman, although he may be too)
