Coffeeshops are for buying weed or hashish. This coffeeshop is situated in a former policestation. Its also known by the locals, that the coffeeshops are mainly owned by criminals. Its strange: looking at a former policestation, beeing now a drugselling centre. Amsterdam is full of contradictions.
Amsterdam is famous for its coffeeshops, which sell coffee - and cannabis over the counter. This isn't a true coffeeshop - but it does have a real Cannabis plant growing in the window.

for our last morning coffee outing. We loved the coffee and the quaint nature of this shop. We got to know the barista Sina, who’s here handing me my change.
I thought this was the oddest sight when I walked into the coffee shop today. The baristas were a little giggly about the sight too.
Arriving in town on the Bank Holiday Monday during the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
There was plenty going on, with stalls, bouncy castles, music, barbecue, hog roast, food and drink. There were flags and crowns and balloons all around.
All in aid of charity.

Small ready packed packets of Nasi Lemak in 'brown paper' are placed on each table. Each packet only contain a couple of spoonful of coconut rice with sambal, ikan bilis and peanuts.
Of course, it is not something I really fancy because I would normally eat something that has a lot more other ingredients to the nasi lemak like chicken redang or sambal sotong. But I guess these small packet are just to satisfy the taste buds of hungry customers without making them to full that have no room in their stomach for the more popular demand like bread and bun toasts.

I'm posting these pictures are B.E.C.K., who wanted something that shows this charming coffee shop in our neighborhood. There is a Starbucks moving in around the corner, but I can assure you, this place has nothing to fear from the Mermaid (except perhaps people buying Bob Dylan's new CD...)
