The Coco-de-Mer (Lodoicea maldivica) is a palm tree endemic to the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. It is notable for its seeds, which can weigh close to 18 kilograms; they are the largest of any plant in the world.
This is the photo I took of Coco where I discovered the cancer on her face. She has her last chemo treatment next week and is doig great!

Day 3 with foster Coco:
She continues to eat well...she really needs to pack on some weight.
She is now spending her time with either me or the boyz...vs. isolating herself upstairs.
She will now growl and bark to express her displeasure (did this 2 times today - once to get a child to back of, and the other to get Harley to back off). The volunteer that head her for a few days before me indicated she would move in for a bite without warning (however she would always inhibit herself, and not follow through). So I am happy she is learning to communicate with others more appropriately.
She is making some attempts to play with me. She has no interest in playing with dogs or toys yet, but she is can be engaged by trying to paw at my wiggling fingers.
Also turns out that she likes to give kiss...she has done this to me a few times.
She is also venturing a little further from me in the leash free park (I only take her into the section for small shy dogs)...usually nobody there, with the occasion human and dog coming in from time to time. She also approached a human again all on her own! She also has the opportunity to watch the other dogs people on the other side of the fence, without being overly intimidated.
We are also going to have to really concentrate on housebreaking. I wasn't sure if it was nerves, or she just hasn't had to hold if for any periods of time - but I am quite confident that she has never been house trained or pee pad trained in the past. So lots of visits outside, as she doesn't seem to ask to go out - and if she does...I haven;t figured out what that behaviour is.
or Lodoicea maldivica, is a palm endemic to the islands of Praslin and Curieuse in the Seychelles. It grows to 25-34 m tall. The mature fruit is 40-50 cm in diameter and weighs 15–30 kg, and contains the largest seed in the plant kingdom.
Until the true source of nut was discovered in 1768, it was believed by many to grow on a mythical tree at the bottom of the sea; European nobles in the sixteenth century would often have the shells of these nuts cleaned and decorated with valuable jewels as collectibles for their private galleries. The Coco de Mer is now a rare protected species.
The name of the genus, Lodoicea, is derived from Lodoicus, the Latinised form of Louis, in honour of King Louis XV of France.
