Coco taxis can be seen all over Havana, and a couple of other cities in Cuba. Scooter-driven, they're small, round, and not dissimilar to the motorised rickshaw and tuk-tuk of South-east Asia.
They're so-called because their shape is said to resemble half a coconut. And, like their Asian counterparts, they make a noise and can reach sometimes nerve-wracking speeds.
Here's Coco, my new hybrid! She's a Dollstown Soyu head on the SQ Lab SG body. I'm sorry for the crappy phone pic, daylight's gone! I'll soon take better pics! I hope I'll be able to do her faceup on Wednesday.
I finally managed to unpack Coco over the weekend and tried new eyes on her x3 They seem to be a sort of pale, mauve-ish brown shade. I think they look great on her! I just don't know their brand as they came with Charlotte, whose first owner replaced her default with these (they are from a Japanese dealer). If I ever find out where they are from, I'd love to get more! They have gorgeous depth.
