Caesar's Tower, Warwick Castle, Warwick, Warwickshire.

Caesar's Tower was built on the orders of Thomas de Beauchamp and was a masterpiece of 14th century military architecture. It has a irregular quatrefoil (in the shape of a cloverleaf) and rises 44.8 meters above the river level. Not including the Gaol it has three stories which are topped off by a platform with a Crenellated and machicolated parapet. Behind the parapet is another story which contains a hexagonal guardhouse.

Warwick Castle is a Scheduled Ancient Monument in recognition of its status as a "nationally important" archaeological site or historic building, and is a Grade I listed building. It is built on a sandstone bluff on a bend of the River Avon in Warwick Warwickshire. The river, which runs below the castle on the east side, has eroded the rock the castle stands on, forming a cliff and natural defences.

An Anglo-Saxon burh was established on the site in 914; with fortifications instigated by Ethelfleda, daughter of Alfred the Great. The burh she established was one of ten which defended Mercia against the marauding Danes. Its position allowed it to dominate the Fosse Way, as well as the river valley and the crossing over the River Avon. Though the motte to the south-west of the present castle is now called "Ethelfleda's Mound", it is in fact part of the later Norman fortifications, and not of Anglo-Saxon origin.

Following the Norman Conquest William the Conqueror built a castle on the site of the burgh. The castle's position made it strategically important in safeguarding the Midlands against rebellion as William advanced with his army northwards. William appointed Henry de Beaumont, the son of a powerful Norman family, as constable of the castle and in 1088, Henry de Beaumont was made the first Earl of Warwick.

During the 12th century, King Henry I was suspicious of Roger de Beaumont, 2nd Earl of Warwick. To counter the earl's influence, Henry bestowed Geoffrey de Clinton with a position of power rivalling that of the earl.

The original wooden motte-and-bailey castle was rebuilt in stone in the 12th century. During the Hundred Years War, the facade opposite the town was refortified, resulting in one of the most recognisable examples of 14th century military architecture. It was used as a stronghold until the early 17th century, when it was granted to Sir Fulke Greville by James I in 1604. Sir Fulke Greville converted it to a country house. It was owned by the Greville family, who became earls of Warwick in 1759, until 1978 when it was bought by the Tussauds Group.

In May 2007 Tussauds was purchased by Merlin Entertainments who continue to operate the castle on a lease, having sold the freehold to Nick Leslau's Prestbury Group in July 2007.

"Kleeblatt" (Cloverleaf), that's what the three friends called themselves and that's what they wrote on the photo. I wonder if they survived the war.

Alfa Romeo 33 Cloverleaf Sports Cars - 1992

Alfa Romeo 4C Cloverleaf. Designed and engineered by Alfa Romeo - and built by Maserati in Modena - as a pure driving machine, the mid-engined Alfa Romeo 4C Quadrifoglio is powered by a new, all-aluminium, >300hp, 1750 Turbo Petrol engine and features Alfa Romeo’s latest-generation ALFA TCT transmission and Alfa D.N.A. driving mode selector - now with a new “Race” mode. The 0-62 mph sprint takes just 3.9 seconds and top speed is >160 mph.

The Alfa Romeo 4C’s compact shape accentuates its remarkable agility: With a dry weight of 895kg; a 40:60 front-to-rear weight distribution; track-honed double-wishbone suspension and Brembo brakes, the Alfa Romeo 4C is capable of generating 1.1g of lateral acceleration and in excess of 1.2g of deceleration force. The exhaust has been tuned to emit a full, rich sound and the unassisted steering is progressive, direct and engineered to convey as much feedback and feel as possible. The steering ratio (16:2) is such as to allow 90% of bends to be taken without having to take your hands off the steering wheel.

Cloverleaf, or Quadrifoglio, badges denote high-end in comfort and engine size variants of Alfa Romeo cars.

The image first appeared in 1923 when Ugo Sivocci presented one prior to the start of the 14th Targa Florio as a good luck token to the team.

This became the symbol of competition Alfas, denoting higher performance.

Some modern Alfa Romeos wear a cloverleaf badge which is typically a green four leaf clover on a white background (Quadrifoglio Verde), but variants of blue on white have been recently observed as well.

This store opened in 1972 with the mall and was the largest JCPenney in Virginia for many years. It measures 200,000 square feet on two floors with an exaggerated mechanical penthouse, giving it the appearance of a much larger store from the front. It was built with a detached Auto Center that converted to Firestone in 1983.

This store closed in 2000 and relocated to a smaller location at Chesterfield Towne Center, about 4 miles away. This building and the mall it used to anchor will be demolished in 2012 in favor of a new mixed-use development on the site.

The MiTo was designed by Juan Manuel Diaz of Centro Stile Alfa Romeo as a three door luxury supermini with an International launch at the 2008 British Motor Show.

The MiTo is built on Fiat Small platform used on Fiat Grande Punto, also employed by the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa D and takes its name from an abreviation of the the cities Milano (Milan) and Torino (Turin), because it was designed in the former and was to be assembled in the latter

The Quadrifoglio Verde (green four-leaf clover) has traditionally been the highest line of Alfa Romeo models. The MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motorshow The QV version has the new 1.4 litres (1,368 cc) Turbo Multiair inline-four engine 170 PS (168bhp) with newly engineered suspension, steering and new six-speed C635 gearbox developed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies. QV had bigger 305 mm front brake discs and exclusive 18" alloy wheels as standard and Sabelt carbon fibre backed bucket seats as an option. From 2014 QV was now available with TCT robotised gearbox which brought down the 0–100 km/h time to 7.3 s. With 2016 facelift QV was renamed as Veloce.

The 2016 facelift of the MiTo range featured a facelifted front fascia with a new updated brand logo and new lettering. Trim line up was changed to Mito, Super and Veloce

The MiTo ended production in 2018, Alfa Romeo had no follow up model in the Supermini category

Loads and loads and loads of Alfa Romeos showed up today, and the majority of them seemed to be some form of Cloverleaf model, I enjoy seeing slightly newer cars at shows, especially stuff like this as it really must have a small following outside of these enthusiast events? Good to see a non faded Alfa badge too.

This pizza had an interesting combination of topping, the jalapenos were very spicy, but mixed with the sweetness of the pineapple, was great. I loved the mushrooms and fresh tomatoes on there as well. The cheese and crust were also fantastic.
