I never grow tired of seeing bees on flowers! Many species are now threatened.

A detail of the field sown with clover and other wildflowers - the field near the lone tree.

Makes me think of the line 'Roll me over in the clover' ... - not that there was much rolling going on 😉, just sitting down and having our packed lunch!

For Macro Mondays: "Shadow"

Clover grows in fields and meadows, the banks of water bodies and roadsides, in pastures and near dwellings. A fodder pasture plant, bees visit it well, it is also a soil-improving plant.

i found this stem of clover in a puddle. it’s a reminder that simple things can be elegant, beautiful, and even poignant. it’s also a reminder to pause. there’s no need to “do it all.” there’s no urgency. in this moment, there’s space to breathe and be.

I bought this gorgeous specimen at the recent Gardener's World show in Birmingham. I absolutely love it as do the bees!

Clover is highly palatable to livestock and is high in protein, phosphorus, and calcium, thus providing valuable nourishment in either the green or the dry stage. In addition to their principal value as animal feed in the form of hay, pasture, and silage, the clovers are valuable soil-improving and soil-conserving plants.

Clover is the new pet of my brother's girlfriend's daughter, Kayleigh. She is one adorabuhl bunneh!!!

A tiny red clover mite, captured under a microscope using focus stacking. Clover mites are 0.75–0.85 mm (0.030–0.033 in) long, oval shaped arachnids. It is amazing how morphologically complex this rather minute critter is! For more information: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryobia_praetiosa
