This past weekend was the date for an annual trip to the South Carolina coast with some special photography friends. We camp on Capers Island, cook, catch up and we take a few photos too. This has become a very special time that I begin looking forward to as soon as the last one is over. ;-) This year, our time was cut short due to the forecast of dangerous winds overnight into Sunday morning as a weather front passed through. So we left the island at sunset on Saturday, squeezing in as much time together as possible. A few of us decided to stay overnight in the Charleston area before heading home on Sunday. Of course, we still wanted to shoot, and after carefully checking the forecast, decided we might have some dramatic beach images on Sunday morning after the front passed through. We got up before dawn and headed to The Isle of Palms Pier. And we certainly weren't disappointed, with waves, clouds and even a little color. After we finished shooting, we had a hearty breakfast and began planning next year's trip as we traveled home.

Waited all weekend hoping to get some lightning shots, but, it was too quick for me. By the time I got set up, it was gone. Next time Lightning! So we settle for some clouds.
For a short moment the moon was shining through the clouds that looked like mountains while the setting sun colored the evening sky of Beaufort (Killarney).
Thanks for all your faves and comments!
The sunrise was disappointing but managed this about half an hour later when it broke through the clouds
Had some amazing cloud formations as storms rolled over the Owyhee mountains. This cloud appeared as an inverted funnel.
The cloud formations and early morning light were spectacular making my lack of sleep well worth the trip...my aim for this pano was to create a symmetrical light show of clouds, color, and land. This pano was created from 3 images- hope you enjoy it...let me know what you think.

I wanted to get the three bridges together with all three bridges landing and looking north. So I've named them the "Three Sisters" The weather was ideal yesterday with the low cloud base giving me the opportunity for a long exposure, I hope you enjoy my images, thanks again for taking the time to view and comment. The blurb and credits below was sourced from Wikipedia.
The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, 9 miles (14 kilometres) west of Edinburgh City Centre. It is considered an iconic structure and a symbol of Scotland (having been voted Scotland's greatest man-made wonder in 2016), and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Forth Road bridge, opened in 1964, spans the Firth of Forth, connecting Edinburgh, at Queensferry, to Fife, at North Queensferry. It replaced a centuries-old ferry service to carry vehicular traffic, cyclists and pedestrians across the Forth
The Queensferry Crossing is a road bridge in Scotland. It was built alongside the existing Forth Road Bridge and carries the M90 motorway across the Firth of Forth between Edinburgh, at South Queensferry, and Fife, at North Queensferry, (courtesy of Wikipedia}
Yesterday they started major roadworks to the bridge, however, there were no major problems during the morning peak after the Queensferry Crossing had closed to southbound traffic for resurfacing work. Motorists travelling towards Edinburgh from Fife have been diverted onto the Forth Road Bridge while 15 metres of tarmac on the crossing is replaced.
It still looks beautiful from this standpoint
This is the image I meant to put up rather than the previous one- sorry!
I liked it better because you can make out the Pelicans more but I'll let you decide.
I often work in Boulder Co and love to take the back way in on highway 93. This is a one of the amazing views that I am lucky enough to see on my drive.
I love Colorado!
