Jim, the sky and the mountainscape are reflected in Lago Lauson in the Grand Paradiso National Park, Italy
The Road to Nowhere was built by Lord Leverhulme in the 1920s, when he owned the Isles of Lewis and Harris, in an attempt to improve the local economy. Starting at the Bridge to Nowhere, which spans Abhainn Gheiradha, the road, which is nothing more than a rough track hugs the coastline for a couple of miles into the moors. Lord Leverhulme's intention was to make possible a continuous road of around ten miles on the east side of Lewis to Port Nis. The road was never built and is now the start of a challenging walk to Ness across the moorland which fringes the coastline on the North East of Lewis.

Hope you enjoy this sunrise...it is one of my favorites. This pano was taken just a few days ago. It is comprised of 3 shots and then cropped. The quality of light was just beautiful on this morning. The cloud formations were unique and they created an illuminated arc beneath the sun. Let me know what you think.

Cloudy and rainy day at Winton Wetlands. Was raining when I took this so a bit wet but glad I got the photo.
Photographed in the La Crosse Blufflands, a Mississippi Valley Conservancy protected area in La Crosse County, Wisconsin.
This was the night of crawlers and upward lightning. Here is an example of the first, covering the whole FOV and more. This was an MCS lasting more than 7 hours throughout the night. Lightning frequency up to more than 1 flash per second at times and lots of hail. Athens, Greece, night of 26.09.2023.

Its a long weekend here in Melbourne Australia and I long for a road trip - maybe back along Canada's famous Icefields Parkway - I can't get enough of turning a corner to see yet another stunning mountain I just have to jump out of the car to photograph!
Si ma di prigione si esce, e quando si esce di prigione, e si porta il nome di Edmondo Dantès, uno si vendica.
The afternoon and evening was a passing parade of wonderful storm clouds and lightning on the horizon. Mother nature gave us a real treat all evening. Although this scene to the naked eye was all dark, this fifteen second exposure was enough to boost the ambient light from the cabins and caravans on the shore of the Murray River and light up the foreground reeds and far trees across the lagoon and river. The birds were settled in for the night on their various perches. The flash of lightning in the distant cloud was a bonus!
Happy Nice Wonderful Cloud Tuesday!
