The afternoon and evening was a passing parade of wonderful storm clouds and lightning on the horizon. Mother nature gave us a real treat all evening. Although this scene to the naked eye was all dark, this fifteen second exposure was enough to boost the ambient light from the cabins and caravans on the shore of the Murray River and light up the foreground reeds and far trees across the lagoon and river. The birds were settled in for the night on their various perches. The flash of lightning in the distant cloud was a bonus!
Happy Nice Wonderful Cloud Tuesday!
A little cloud action for a wet weekend.
Hard to make out behind the low level cumulus is a major lenticular formation created by the mountain just out of shot at lower right.

The last rays of a fiery sunset over the Grampians National Park in western Victoria catching on the wonderful curves of the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

Was talking a stroll down the beach with the Mrs as the sun was setting. I have only just started to take my camera every where with me, its like my child at the moment and this is when i captured this.
Sunset at Portsmouth from the deck of Brittania Ferry's Bretagne before the sailing to St Malo, Brittany France.
A number of smaller, leading storms rolled down the Derwent Valley prior to the monster that struck Hobart and its surrounds, 02 Dec 2021. This is one of those smaller cells, backlit, behind Selfs Point/Cornelian Bay. Mt Faulkner on the left and Mt. Direction at the right.
Taken with the Ricoh GRiii - used as the lightmeter for the 6x6 Bronica. Hopefully there're some decent frames on the bigger camera. After this cell passed, I went home, had a cuppa then went out again to the other side of the river hoping for some more action from the next storm showing up on the radar. More than we bargained for that one :-)

A much more delicate sunset, with a beautiful range of colours. It's so hard to resist taking sunset photos, I usually try to get some foreground interest, but I love the simplicity of this one, and the textures in the sand. Normally I'd look for a rock in the middle of a rock pool, which I've done to death!
Super busy this summer, and fall will likely be busy as well with produce. Good for the bank account, but hard to find the time to do my Flickr thang. Decided to post this tonight and then try to catch up with your posts.
This was taken about 6:20 AM Pacific time zone, in October of 2014, I pulled over near Eugene Oregon to take pictures of this sunrise.
Some scenic parking areas "invite" you to pull over. Some - like this one in Grand Teton NP - "demand" your stopping!
I got out of my car and inhaled "awesome."
Panorama of the Grand Harbour, lit with a magnificent full moon. From left to right, Valletta, Rinella, Bighi, Kalkara, Fort St. Angelo, Senglea, Cospicua (in the background), Vittoriosa and Corradino.
I took this photo at sunset in the dunes near Loon op Zand, The Netherlands, during sunset. The setting sun creates a beautiful yellow touch in the clouds at the background.
