I took this in the field near my house the other night. It was a magnificent scene.

Playing with some long exposure shots on Chetco cove beach, Brookings, Oregon

Sunrise this morning was quite epic, but i like this long exposure of the groyne and Lighthouse

FFF+ Snap Happy is a group for FFF images that reflect positivity, happiness, joy and beauty only. I chose the theme Reflections for this week.

(also phone images 3/10 Flickr X100 2020)

I had a few reflection attempts but I kept coming back to this one. On our nightly walk, we are usually finishing just as sunset approaches As we turned the corner for home, I noticed the sunset lit up the rear window of the Taxi Van. I kind of knew the feel I wanted for the image and it took awhile to get there. I almost gave up but got there in the end. Given it was my topic, I had to put something up.

Apologies if I don't get round to much commenting today. In the field for work and it will be a long day. Will catch up soon.

Watching the Wind Surfers from Pagham beach where I live today. Winds had eased off a bit to probably gusts of 50mph so not to bad but it was mega cold with Hail and Rain. Times like this that you realise your brand new kit bag is not waterproof as advertised.

The Windserfers are a little blurd because of the slow speed but I think it emphasises motion a bit better. I only went for 1/1 seconds as I did not want to stop the motion completely but wanted to capture the waves and smooth out the water in the pool a bit.

I use F8-F9 most times now as this seems to be the sweet spot for the lens I use.

Though things seem a little confused and out of control at times,we still live in the greatest country on earth. It's important to remember those that paved the way for us to enjoy what we take for granted at times...

I was unable to upload till late yesterday due to issues flickr was having,so please forgive this for being a little late....

Hope everybody had a great Memorial Day-it was beautiful here in northern Illinois!

Crazy rapidly changing early morning wind patterns - in this case from the southwest but quickly changed to a nor'easterly direction whipping the birches around. Gorgeous magenta, orange and pink sunrise with deep blue/gray swirling clouds.

Bonus: Clean air!

After a battle for the weather, the light prevailed, the rumble from the thunder continued in the distance.

Somewhere out of shot, a handsome man in a tuxedo is searching in his pockets for the keys to either a DB9 or a DB5. Either way, he will be happy to jump behind the wheel of an Aston Martin.

A pair of 1/18th scale models from the cheap and cheerful end of the model spectrum - the Aston Martin DB9 by Motor Max, and the Aston Martin DB5 by Solido, set against a moody and dramatic sunset taken from Big Hill lookout in Stawell in Western Victoria.

Posting one from the archives for the moment - another version of one already posted a couple of years ago. Just back from a week away, and still getting unpacked and organised - will catch up soon!

Happy Nice Wonderful Cloud Tuesday!

Better late than never :)

This year the FFF+ have created a group challenge called "Five On The Fifth" (FOTF) . . . five images in the form of a collage must be uploaded on the 5th of each month, with there being a different theme, set by a member of the group each month.

The photos can be five different images or five images of the one subject/object shot in different ways, as long as they are presented in the form of a collage.

This months theme of “Structure” was chosen by Laszlo.

I wanted to do cloud structure for this challenge but when it came to putting it together, I couldn't quite achieve what I wanted and as using photoshop was making my RSI pain worse, I gave up. My fellow FFF friend Andrew helped me put this together-drove the machine and I bossed him around and told him what I wanted. Thanks.

We just returned from a few days along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Because of weather conditions (and laziness) I didn't get any sunrise or sunset shots until yesterday morning just before leaving. This was taken about 15 minutes before the sun came up from the beach area near Artists" Point in Grand Marais, Minnesota. I hope you can feel a little of the quietness and peacefulness of being there.

Coucher de soleil flamboyant sur l'étang des Aulnes en Crau.

I was returning home after an uneventful photo-op drive when I saw this sunset in the rear-view mirror. The old farm buildings and the cattle (if you look very closely) just happened to be there. This is a merger of three bracketed shots (-1 to +1 EV, hand held).

Bit of a drab sunrise today just a band of lovely colour which lasted about an hour until the westerly wind blew in the cloud

Surprisingly, the Owyhee front is over 100% snowpak for the year. There's more up there in those deep canyons and crevices than meets the eye!

"Back Home"

What a wonderful experience to observe different waterfowl return to Minnesota and set about on the task of making a home for a few months. This frame with a Wood Duck was taken on a very wooded wetland pond a few miles west of Cambridge that last summer dried totally up due to the drought but is now replenished.

On our approach to the Old Man of Storr, the clouds briefly illuminated the otherwise grey blanket that was covering the sky. A quick pull over on the side of the road to capture one of the many moods of the Old Man or Storr.

The name comes from its resemblance to an old man or wizard and for the Norse word Storr which means 'great man".

You know how trees are usually beautiful, a nice part of nature, but then some trees are, well just kinda creepy. For creepy trees maybe an exorcism is the trick to un-creep-ify.

Anyway, I took this shot from the parking lot of the Summit Rest Area about 18 miles East of Laramie, Wyoming. It's the highest elevation on I-80 at over 8,000 feet.

I had stopped here because of high winds and the possibility of my truck and trailer being blown over. I like to avoid being blown over, I've seen it, not pretty.

Here's a link to another picture I took that evening in January and posted way back then.
