Torrance Beach
Torrance, CA

One of the shots I took during my after work sojourn to Torrance Beach to photograph the sunset prior to the last storm. Although a relatively weak storm, there were two evenings with beautiful photographic opportunities, and I was able to get a lot of photos as the sun was setting on Twosday.
Rapidly changing skies with jet stream moved over head. Winds were 25mph with gusts to near 50mph.

This is the b&w version of a cloudscape shot that I have posted earlier. I have applied a subtle split toning in Silver Efex Pro 2. I gave the shadows a slightly blueish hue, whereas the lights have a touch of yellow. All very subtle but to me it turns the the image into something special. I like it even more than the color version.
Bridgewater Bay in Somerset ,from Burnham-on-sea. A part of the Bristol Chanel between England and Wales .
Looking across the mouth of the River Parrett, roughly westwards,in the shadows to the left you can just make out the squared off outline of EDF Energy's Hinkley Point B Nuclear power station, and the Quantock Hills beyond.
Still lit by the sun in the far distance are the higher uplands of Exmoor ,the Brendon Hills.
From the right , you can just make out a small rounded dark hill which l think is North Hill, overlooking Minehead, with Exmoor behind it . Further left the more pointed peak is Dunkery Beacon, the highest point in the National Park.
