I always have my head in the clouds... I spend as much time looking up as I do looking down.

Dramatic sunset light on breezy clouds at Abiquiu, New Mexico

On a regular basis, fog invades the wine valleys and creates a seascape effect.

I took this quite a few days ago, the same night I took this one, but 15 minutes earlier.

Stop sign against an afternoon cloudscape in Southport, Florida - Mach 31, 2019.

It's all about the fog: taken along Kebler Pass somewhere between Crested Butte and Gunnison, Colorado, this image brings back fond memories of a blissful vacation in the mountains.

i see the ocean everyday and this is surely one of the oddest clouds i have ever seen.. it just drifted to the south at a pretty steady pace, like some kind of cloud slug..

birdwatchers & cloudwatchers -- Similarites........

someone told me recently of how there are a group of folks that keep an eye out for all manner and different types of clouds - and record sightings/photo doc them, etc .... in similar manner of the habits of some birdwatchers

...interesting ...

occasionally i will take the time to photo doc. some that catch my eye.

As do many, i find it fascinating how the differences in light and even slight movements in the atmosphere may keep one attentive to the show - especially at dawn & dusk

This bright, beautiful winter image is all about the clouds for me. Being a bit higher than the scene gave a unique perspective on a gorgeous sky. This is a four vertical image panorama, a technique I often use to give a more natural crop in the end. The Sigma packed loads of detail into this image even at f/2.8, and that detail is strong across the image frame. It was incredibly cold when I shot this, but that cold produces a very crisp beauty that translates well into a photograph. Enjoy this cloudscape, whatever your weather is today.
