BEST LARGE ON BLACK! Backing up all my images onto a new hard drive, I ran across an evenings shoot I did not develop. Can't believe I forgot these images. Here is one from that night. The clouds exploded with color as the sun set.

Any good? Tips? I was going for a reasonably natural looking effect to capture a scene which I would have struggled to capture any other way. It's ended up a bit darker (to emphasise the sunrays) and a bit more saturated than I remember the real scene.
August 8, 2004. I photographed this distant thunderstorm between 10 and 11 pm from my backyard in Fort Collins. No sound, just spectacular lightning. I used digital camera Cannon 10D on a tripod set up at ISO 800 and with exposure time from 4 to 10 second.
On my way to pick up a radiator to the other car, I got to this place, where I have taken many pics before, as you can see on my map.
But I had to stop and make another one ´cause the sky was just amazing... The sun lite the cornfield and the clouds were very gloomy ;o)

The Palolo region that backs against the distant hills, with dramatic cloud patterns. Clouds usually shroud the upper regions of the hills, making it cold up there. Image features residentials on the hill slopes, and hotels, motels and apartments in the foreground. Ala Wai Canal can be seen across the middle of the image. A panoramic view. On the 30th floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge. Campers and day-visitors can enjoy the Olympic-size pool, scheduled summer tours through the gorge, tent and trailer campsites, picnic facilities and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek, which is renowned for its annual spring run of rainbow trout.
