Clouds over South England

I do like taking pictures of great cloud 'structures'. These clouds filled up the whole sky like this, one of the reasons to leave some land in the shot was to give it a little idea of scale.

Taken between Santarém and Belém, Pará, in some place of the Amazonian sky, 06 Oct 2007.

To my friend, Clóvis Franco. "Hasta Diciembre, Clóvis".

I take this image up to 11.000 meters. =)

Some nice clouds at the day we went home again. It was a very nice view we got.

The sun's rays radiate from behind the clouds.

A detail of the cool clouds as seen in the previous photograph.

I'm glad I made the effort to get my tripod for this one (I'd just cycled all the way across Edinburgh in busy traffic with it on my back!) as I don't think this would have turned out nearly as well if I hadn't.

That's a rainstorm that's coming in from the left. It's a bit of a shame there's no Edinburgh landmarks in this shot (the city centre is off to the right) but I guess you you can't have everything!

Outside my window

Recently there have been quite a few beautiful sunsets, but I usually miss them or I don't have a camera with me. That's one of the few times I just had my camera with me.

Was a great sight to see this thunder head from a distance. I love how the sun lit up the clouds. Another great sight here in Burkina Faso. I belive this is a cumulonimbus incus cloud. Help from wiki of course...

From a high based storm cell in central Nebraska.

As taken over Pagham Harbour never seen a cloud like this (not a vapour trail to low.)

On the way from Hualien to Taipei, snuck out the Holga and took a few shots out the window as the plane broke through the cloud cover. The stewardess kind of freaked out when she saw me taking pictures. I guess she thought I was breaking the new electronics rule of domestric flights. If you look closely, you can see the shadow of the plane.
