Another Tiskilwa, Illinois sunset. I have nearly a thousand sunset images taken from my yard in rural northern Illinois. Sometimes I wish there was an ocean in front yard, but at least there are lines of trees surrounding the cornfield across the road.
Team National Summer Nationals 2007 held in Kansas City, MO. Gail (Lawanna), JoeAnn, and I flew from Valdosta to Atlanta and then to Kansas City for the convention.

An evening at Nauset Light Beach. One cloud overhead with setting-sun light starting to play on the clouds and horizon.
The vertical banding, like shadows is interesting. The sun was low, so I'm not sure what this is the camera's processor or a natural phenomenon.

You light the skies, up above me
A star, so bright, you blind me, yeah
Don’t close your eyes
Don’t fade away, don’t fade away...
Yeah you and me we can ride on a star
If you stay with me
We can rule the world-
Yeah you and me we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side
We can rule the world...

This image was one of three that I submitted for the Peak Photography 2011 competition run as part of the Buxton Festival held during the month of July. The theme of this years competition was 'fire and light' and attracted entries from national and international photographers coming from Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, London, Macedonia and Canada. With some serious photographers submitting and although I did not make the final placing for prizes, I was pleased to make the top fifteen finalists.
This image along with the other fourteen finalists will now be displayed alongside the finalists of the Poetry competition – held at the same time, in the University Devonshire Dome building in Buxton, Derbyshire until the 27th July when the festival comes to an end.
Silhouetted against the setting sun, the gritstone rock formation of Five Clouds, The Roaches during a cold January afternoon. Mist and low cloud cover the valley floor in the distance. Peak District National Park, Staffordshire Moorlands, UK.

This small, still lake in Michigan rendered reflections as wet gobs of oil paint on canvas. Life imitating art at a most basic level.
The sky here is lit up nice as the sun goes down at the end of the day.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.
I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.
I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in England.
All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.
I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.
All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.
I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.
All of my pictures are copy right, © All rights reserved, you MAY NOT use any of my pictures without my written consent, you also MAY NOT change, alter, adjust or rearrange my pictures in anyway what so ever.

Another shot of the Sunset captured this evening enroute from Miami to Bogota. Somewhere over the Caribbean. This cloud really cooperated with being in the right place at the right time.
Mammatus are pouch-like cloud structures and a rare example of clouds in sinking air. As updrafts carry precipitation enriched air to the cloud top, upward momentum is lost and the air begins to spread out horizontally, becoming a part of the anvil cloud. Because of its high concentration of precipitation particles, the saturated air is heavier than the surrounding air and sinks back towards the earth.
