Standing on top of The Cloud, a prominent hill of 343 metres/1125 ft on the border between Cheshire and Staffordshire a couple of miles west of the Peak District National Park boundary, you get extensive views over Congleton, Biddulph, Macclesfield, Holmes Chapel, the Greater Manchester area and out over the Cheshire Plains towards the mountains of North Wales.
It's nearly always windy on top of The Cloud, the moist air carried on prevailing westerly winds rising up its steep western slopes. So it's no surprise to see clouds over it's top. More surprising is one man's story that he convinced his young daughters that it is here that all the world's clouds are formed, and that is why this hill has its name. What a loving father he must be.
There is a Guernsey saying west is best, it normally relates to the West show which in fact is situated to the left of Fort Saumerez . But is aptly sums up the sunsets which we get on the west coast of Guernsey in fact I took this picture from Vazon bay.

North of Palm Springs near Desert Hot Springs while out geocaching this morning. The peak of Mt. San Jacinto is up in those clouds.
After my shot of "The Bean" from the other day proved to be quite popular, I went into my archives and found this shot I did last summer of the sculpture on a partly cloudy day.

A tornado in the Rozel, Kansas sequence. The first was rated EF4. Haven't looked on the followups, but likely weak. A good reason to stay back is the overall view.
Also appears on the Capital Weather Gang.
Having been thwarted at this mornings attempt at sunrise photos by thick cloud, I was determined to get something from today, to make up for the disappointment.
This is a special place, this remote lonely beach, the rocks spread out across the beach. The sound of the sea rolling back and forward and it was getting dark. Delighted to be on explore once more and really chuffed that this picture rose during the day to 270
