There's nothing like a good old fashioned midwestern summer thunderstorm... especially dramatic from above!
“A pessimist only sees the dark side of the clouds, and mopes; a philosopher sees both sides and shrugs; an optimist doesn't see the clouds at all....he's walking on them.”
THUNDERSTORM WARNING
LIghtning, floods and hail expected in the next 2 hours or so. Love it! I sent the photo into ABC 13 News so you can checkout the comments here: www.facebook.com/KTNVLasVegas.

This is what comes of self-isolation. I try not to venture out too far from the apartment, unless it is to run errands. I try to walk, both for the exercise and to save gas on the car. There aren't too many places left to photograph, so I now check the skies while standing outside my porch. Tonight, I got this nice view of beautifully textured clouds as the sun was setting. The clouds slowly moved off to the east, clear skies behind it.
After driving west through a heavy rain storm I saw this in the rear view mirror. Had to stop and pop off a few.
The San Luis National Wildlife Refuge near the cities of Los Banos and Stevinson is a very unique and beautiful location that I've only started to explore. While scouting this particularly large marsh I was drawn to the open areas of tule and the large number of playful ducks. The clouds from the breaking storm were the perfect element to compliment the foreground marsh.
Some nice August clouds reflecting themselves in a small mountain pond found during a walk along the Carnic Alps peaks.
we had a tornado warning tonight but it fizzled out. this is what we got instead. whoo hoooo! we are still suffering "tornado PTSD" from 5 years ago June 1.
