Kiama Harbour Light, an active lighthouse located on the south coast of NSW. It is literally a stone's throw away from Kiama's iconic Blowhole Point.

It had such a magnificent view, elevated above the Harbour with the clouds as the backdrop. I did not want to leave. It was like I was walking on air:

I'm not usually a big fan of udon, but when I passed a small restaurant in Cloud Nine mall near Zhongshan Park, they were advertising a beef udon special, and it sounded pretty good. Actually, I got it and it was great! Everything from the beef to the stock was excellent! I wish I could remember the name of the place, but I don't think I even noticed it. It was one of those cheap places where you get your own drinks. It was near the Yang's Dumplings, on one of the underground levels.

Kids come out to check out the visitors in Auki Harbour. Loved the mix of hair colour and they were so relaxed in their play away from hovering parents.

We thought we'd go down to see it closer since the tide is out but the wind was so cold will have to do it in a warmer month with hiking boots :D

Lin and Larry Pardey's engineless cruiser at Kawau Island while they were back in the US. The design is I think a Lyle Hess take on the pilot-cutter theme and the thing on the backstay looking like a 2-handed saw will be a windvane turning a trim-tab on the rudder.

It feels like there should be a film crew here permanently - they did use it for the "Mutiny on the Bounty" film starring Marlon Brando and Trevor Howard.

Petroglyphs of the birdman cult. The first man of the season to swim out to Motu Nui (seen just offshore) and get an egg became king for a year. This was the culture of the 'short ear' people who were the workers for the'long ears' who wanted the big statues. When the trees ran out revolution was inevitable with the 'short ears' knocking down the statues. This is all supposition with the locals knowing no more than anyone else.

Willi with his orange yacht Willwaw at Puerto William (Tierra del Fuego). If you like old sailing books (K1) try his "North-West Passage".
