On the way to Preikestolen

We past this dangerous cloud on the way to Turkey. /

Wir passierten diese gefährliche Cumolo-Nimbus-Wolke, die alle Technik -

auch die großer Flugzeuge - lahmlegen kann.

This cloud reminded me of a cartoon Character of my Gramma :)

The center of our city is visible while fog and clouds cover the southern suburbs. Dunedin is built inside the cone of a volcano with part of the rim to the right side of the picture. Christchurch and Auckland are also built near dormant volcanos while Wellington our capital city lies on a major fault line. What were our early settlers thinking when they founded our cities? :)

Thanks for visiting and hope you are in Santa's good books.

SONY DSC

First morning after descending from Mount Kinabalu. Did a long exposure of the fog sweeping in, if look closely, you can see the light rays between the trees!

Thanks Nora for arranging the accommodation here for us, beautiful place to watch the clouds and Mount Kinabalu.

Late day clouds over the Grand Canyon, North Rim, Arizona. This is one of a sequence of shots with the same or nearly the same composition as the clouds moved over the canyon changing their appearance and the lighting of the canyon below.

Took 3 shots at different exposures to make this HDR.

Белое солнце пустыни

These alto stratos clouds looked like they had been sketched onto the blue sky. They demanded to be photographed :-)

This image is a prime example of why it's said that you should never turn your back on a sunset once it's "completed". Because it's not really completed until it's dark out!

I thought I picked up everything that I wanted to for the sunset at Summit Lake State Park last evening. Got the camera all setup for the composition I wanted for star trails, took some blue hour shots of the scene...then turned around and saw this in the sky.
