CHINA. Beijing. February 21, 2011. The morning commute on subway line 2, which encircles the center of Beijing, the so-called center of the Chinese world.
I actually got the close-up of this one before getting the more distant shot. I have found this species a lot this summer and was less concerned that I get "any" shot than I am in some instances with a species I haven't seen much.

Went hunting with the Macro Lens again this evening. My wife captured this little creature for me (I was too frightened to pick it up) I dont know what it is but it was very patient and kept still for me while I took some images of it. It was released back into the wilds of my conservatory after the photoshoot.
This lettering has been engraved out of the smooth stone marble above the door of the old bank. The lettering is high-up, but the bold gold colouring helps it to stand out and be eye-catching to the public. The colour would probably be gilded on, if not painted, onto the sunken lettering. The lettering seem quite unique to the environment.
The sign has remained in good condition as there is yet to be any damage to it.

Most of the sisters were pretty shy, but this woman let me take a close-up. Notice the thanaka on her face and the orange headdress - the traditional color for this particular Danu tribe.
This is a picture of an Elephant apple. The family name of the plant is dileniaceae and it can be found in the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
