Hoya 4X Close-Up 'Filter' Lens

I purchased a set of 'New Old Stock' 55mm Hoya close-up lenses from an eBay vendor for a price I can only describe as 'Stupid Cheap'. I have used them before; see the results in the "Macro Madness" Set.

This is the Kodak DX6490 with the Hoya 4X Close-Up. It's beautiful! All the detail you could want; from a screw-on filter-type accessory lens, anyway.

I purchased a set of 'Merkury' 55mm screw-on accessory lenses from an eBay vendor. They claim the lenses are made in Japan, but the Japanese have not made such awful lenses since the 1960's.

Close up of a nightingale singing. I was very lucky to get this close to a nightingale! After spotting this fly low into a tree, I had my camera set on max zoom(32Xoptical) and took a few shots. Then it allowed me several moments to film/video it singing too, before it flew out of sight.

Shame about the poor light/shadows, but you cant have everything!

This was the 1st of several nightingale seen/heard on the day.
