The Co-Operative Department Store is the finest example of Pre-WWII Modernist building in Derby City Centre. It was built 1938-40 and designed in-house by Derby Co-Operative Society's own architect, Sid Bailey - and having been built by the D.C.S's own Building Department it is completely 'Made In Derby'. Can there be a finer example of Streamline Moderne glazing going round a street corner anywhere else in the UK? This is a close-up view of the three glazing bands as they take the East Street/Exchange Street corner.
A close up of the curved balconies and ornate railings.. reminds me of houses in The Cat in the Hat... perhaps this was inspiration for that book.

Close up of one of my first ever wedding cakes. I completely undercharged and the flowers took an age. The garland was all sugar roses orchids ivy and foliage with pearls.
WPWD Challenge with a Twist
Outfit made by me (exclusive of Momoko mj's and tights by Shopoholican).
Crepe shirt with teeny crochet neckline and cuffs finished with tiny gold beads. Orange cotton skirt with uneven hemline and high waist. Hat is spotty orange and white with material flower to embellish.
Dragon also made by me (pattern by Sewlolita) made from felts and cotton yarn.
