Getting a little closer. I like this view. Can you imagine the noise the rocks made coming down that chute!
The Indian Mine was first discovered around 1903 by an Indian prospector named Johnny Hughes, who found a mineral vein while hunting bighorn sheep. The claim was sold to others who began working it in 1905. A one stamp mill was installed at a later date. The mine was never profitable.

Vicars' Close, in Wells, Somerset, England, is claimed to be the oldest purely residential street with its original buildings all surviving intact in Europe. A planned street of the mid-14th century it is about 460 ft long, and paved with setts. Its width is tapered by 10 ft to make it look longer when viewed from the main entrance nearest the cathedral. When viewed from the other end it looks shorter.
Showing details of the stamens and pistil. These pictures were taken during a Creative Close up Photography workshop at the University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens.
This is taken on my trip to Valdres, Norway. Approximately 1200 MASL and in clear, albeit windy, weather.
We found a pride of lion just north of Grootkolk. They are roaring, playing and fighting short after sunrise.

"I was lost till I found you
We’ll make the night last forever
You said you’d never let go
One step at a time getting closer
Girl you wanna promise
I don’t wanna be all by myself
Come close, come close, come close
All I need, I need, I need"
Wonho - CLOSE
A close up look of a night heron resting in a central park in the middle of Taipei city. There was a small pond with 20 at least. Some were trying to hide but other didn’t care at all as they felt super confident resting there.
For me it was super interesting as I could do a close up photo of them. In a normal environment in the wild that would have been impossible.
One of the night's creatures. The closest I got on this part of the ceiling. This lizard is roughly 12 inches long(including the tail).
Thanks to Basic Bill's tip via Gilbert that an over-under potential existed at Genoa, I gave it a try and came this close, sort of an engine-over-caboose sort of thing...for two lines with each only a pair of regularly-scheduled trains each day, I can't believe how many times I and others have come oh so close!
Sorry about the lack of content lately, I've been super busy.
This photo is different from most of my other stuff, but I wanted to experiment. "Close" is of my favourite coffee thermos, which satisfied my addiction. Unfortunately for me, it broke recently.
I've also included a black and white version of this in the comments below, which one looks better?
