Closing time, time for you to go out
To the places you will be from
Closing time, this room wont be open
Till your brothers or your sisters come
So gather up your jackets, move it to the exits
I hope you have found a friend
Closing time, every new beginning
Comes from some other beginnings end.

Not closely related to any other kind of bird but full of character. Their nests (said to be strong enough to take the weight of a man) are huge constructions, usually in a tree fork and made of mud-cemented branches , twigs and anything they can find. They might be something around 1.05 metres wide and roughly ball-shaped with one entrance-hole in the side.
There may be smaller birds, snakes, small mammals etc. living in the walls and larger animals or birds of prey will move-in when the nest is empty or might just evict the Hamerkops. However, the Hamerkops are compulsive nest-builders and may have several to chose from.
