Brewer and Shipley anyone? But wait, why bother with Brewer and Shipley when you can feature Spiro Agnew and Lawrence Welk!??

Have a safe and exciting day Dear Flickr friends !!!!!!!!

I sometimes find the clone fashions of the 60’s are way more interesting than some of the Mattel outfits, though I largely collect Mattel items. I did collect the Mod era clone fashions at one time (particularly the funky Maddie Mod stuff) but never collected the vintage era outfits. I happened upon this wonderful black cocktail dress that was part of a lot that my Polly clone came in. A bit of online research found this to be one of Miss Babette’s outfits from the early 60’s, (Photo of the boxed fashion taken from the internet at bottom right.) I adore it as it reminds me of the glamorous cocktail dresses the iconic mid-Century couturiers Christian Dior and Cristobal Balenciaga created back then. It also reminds me of those fabulous Irving Penn photos of his wife Lisa Fonssagrives in Vogue back in the 50’s, so I thought I should put it on my very ‘Lisa-ish’ lemon blonde Swirl ponytail. The red metal rose at her waist was another old earring of my mother’s that she had back in the early 60’s which I think sets it off beautifully. Barbie is all ready for a very special date with Ken… Will it be El Morocco, Copacabana or the Stork Club tonight?

And I'm pretty proud of myself about it.

I lied. Using the frame from my <3 Suit, I made a good Clone hardsuit. Why? Because the Republic needs to crush droids, and I couldn't find a good design.

you can download my clone from my website www.bertsimons.nl and build me if you want.

I wanted to try out a cut technique that Kyle Hardisty came up with except I used a washable Crayola marker. Comments mean more than favorites, so if you comment please favorite. :)

Well, my football season ended prematurely, leading to more free time. With my ample time, I realized how distant from the hobby I was. So to make up for spare time, I did something I have always wanted to do, make my own Commando. I bought Star Wars: Republic Commando back in the summer, and I instantly fell in love with the game. This, and the release of Star Wars Battlefront II, revived the drive of wanting to dig out the tools and work with my parts. Also, I just realized that I missed my 7 year anniversary, which has also lead me on a trip down memory lane. I am more than grateful for the relationships and fun I have had on this website, and I hope that this will continue. Anyways, I'm done with the personal stuff, on to the figure.

The figure I have created is based off the basic Republic Commando from the Star Wars Universe. His name and color scheme are based off of my High School Football teams colors, maroon and white. The helmet and backpack were base commando parts from Clone Army Customs. The chest piece, knee pads, shoulder pads, and pouches are made from ProCreate. The crotch and ab pieces are cut from the Spartan Armor from BrickForge. I painted this myself with Apple Barrel and Citadel Paints.

This is as near a copy of MikeVd's chibi Miku as I can make with my current parts supply. I don't have the old school hinge parts he used to attach the ponytails, so they sit a little higher on my version.

Lego 501st Clone Troopers (Purist)

L-R:

Hero (similar to the soldier class but very OP and loads of

health, like a Jedi in SWB)

Medic (Healing abilities, think of a TF2 medic)

Warrior (Pretty good all round, average stats)

Heavy (Loads of health, powerful attacks that can't be used often and are slow)

Elite (Long Range attacks, quick, very agile)

Please Credit and consider commenting if you fave! Thanks!

After the nightmare of building this helmet for about four hours straight, I went to bed thinking that I would build him a more conservative CubeDude torso and arms in the morning. I failed. ;-)

Let's say that he is a normal CubeDude under the fancy Armor.

As always, thanks to MacLane for coming up with the wonderful idea with the CubeDudes.

Hey I was just testing out my new background. If you like show your support by faving! thanks to [https://www.flickr.com/photos/justinpyne/] for the minigun design!

I'm experimenting with figure photography. Hoping to improve as the year continues!

Enhancement by Tammy.

My son Karriem decided he would help me out today, we had a blast, lol.

Upon reviewing my old commando template, I figured it was inaccurate and outdated. I remade the leg, arm, and helmet templates to better match the clone wars commandos seen on the show.

Please check out the alternative views to see the details put into it! If you fave, comment too please. Thanks to Arealight for the amazing backpack and helmet!

I received my clone kit in the mail today... Some assembly required?!? Seriously?

Hey, wait! I didn't receive the "TORSO" box!

What the heck?

Hello friends! I apologize for my lack of activity in the past weeks. I have been spending more time with family and working over the summer but I've also been working on some new photos. I will be away for one more week this summer so I won't have any new content coming out but I look forward to showing you guys what I'm working on.

In light of yesterday's announcement from the Clone Wars panel at San Diego Comic Con I thought it appropriate to join in the celebration of the return of a certain popular Star Wars television show haha! We are final going to get a proper end to The Clone Wars and hopefully one more team up with Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, and Rex! Enjoy this good news, God bless and may the force be with you, always.

Hey you guys!

This is probably the longest I've been away from flickr and certainly the most unplanned. We left home last Friday night to new york, where we spent about 5 hours. And believe it or not, we actually roamed around the city, all the way to time square. My dad’s friend and his son showed us around because I really wanted to see times square because the last time we went to NYC we never had the chance to visit Manhattan!! I did take a couple of pictures though. Then we had to get on a flight to Atlanta that got delayed almost 5 hours because of the hurricane that was about to hit Texas. When we finally reached Houston it was around 3 am and me and my dad were so tired. Our old house looked exactly the way it did when we left it, it felt so good to be home.

besides the fact that my room looked like pink smurf had been living in it! I really need to make it over. I mean I knew I loved pink, in my early teen years; but what was I thinking buying every piece of furniture in my room except my bed, table and mirror table pink! Gawdd!

We had to get so many things done and with only a couple of days till college starts, i was out all day. In addition to that we didn’t have a proper internet connection until now. Well, lovely thing about moving back here is that now I have a new setting for all my pictures including floral macros and self portraits.

I want to apologize for this unbelievably long long long break, I really missed you guys! And I understand if you guys don’t feel like commenting this after me being so occupied and not visiting your streams, but I'm on my way to visit all your streams right now.

big.
