A duo of clean & sharp looking Dakota & Iowa SD40-2’s lead a freight across the Big Sioux River in North Sioux City, Iowa. This is a great railroad that takes pride in their fleet and their company. The crew members were very friendly & I also heard that they wash their units following every run!
My first Tommy Poppins pic for a few months now and I think I nailed it. It's just how I planned it and there may be one or two rough spots with the Dodge & Burn but apart from that i think it's the best Photoshop project I've ever done. I love it! I also think this is a good costume for my Tommy Poppins character.
Rarely do I get a chance to see and shoot anything in Northern Pacific colors, so seeing NP 3617 and GN 400 out in the open waiting for pick up by BNSF was a treat. The pair of SD45s were waiting to head to Saint Paul Union Depot for the GN-NP Historical Society conference.
Former EMDX SD70ACe-T4 demonstrator #1502 leads this northbound UP stack train as first of UP's Tier 4 class, although considered just another SD70AH by the railroad. The train is joining UP's Springfield Sub at "Q Tower" in East St. Louis, IL while a southbound stack train waits for the light and permission through single-tracked "Hole in the Wall."

When I put this set together, it was a rainy and sad day, it seemed like summer wasn’t going to last long this year. It reminded me of heartbreak, big lonely teardrops falling from the heavens.
And just like all summer showers, it ended and the sun broke through again.

A loaded taconite train heads south on this pleasant October afternoon. What's so classy you may ask? Well, we ended up chasing this train to a spot south of Coons, and as the train was pulling out of the siding, the engineer hit the brakes, putting the train into a full stop. The door swung open as him and the conductor got out of the cab to yell "GET OFF THE FUCKING PROPERTY!" at us. Yeah, real classy bunch.
