The Planetary Defence Buggy is an agile vehicle able to provide aerial defence capabilities.

Note: This build is directly based on LEGO set 6831

Codename for this one is "Bambi", and it is very impopular on the Ice Planet.

For crossing challenging terrain on the Moon! Uses same consumables tanks as the LB 926 Moonbase for redundancy and commonality.

Just a simple sketch modification of the monster trucks from 2021's set 60295, City Stuntz Arena. If I took the time I could probably turn the monster truck platform into a good update of the old Classic Space set Recovery Vehicle.

Turn Bat-Tank into Space Tank :)

Celebrating Classic Space Themes in a modular building.

Built by our 13yr old son

This will be the last NCS-Model for 2010.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year my friends!

Cheers,

------------------------------------------------------------------THE IDEA------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the horizon of all those treacherous dunes on Classic Space box art? Well, heck if I know -- BUT I can ask you a better question: how does one get there? CERTAINLY not with 6mm offset tread wheels mind you! Legend has it, as you progress deeper and deeper into the dunes, the sediment becomes darker and redder. Some believe this is because of a rich resource which lies deep beneath it, some say it leads to treasure, and others may warn that is home to the Insectoids... Personally I think its because I only had so many options to work with for backgrounds -- BUT the answer is up to you!

------------------------------------------------------------------THE CRAWLER------------------------------------------------------------------

Back to the big question, how does one cross those dunes? Well, the nerds over at Classic Space HQ (trans-green edition) have the answer! They came up with the legendary idea of slapping the biggest tires possible on the 6901 Mobile Lab, but then quickly realized the tire itself was far bigger than the lab, so they had to resort to an increased budget. They searched far and wide for whatever traditional light gray pieces they could find and were able to create a behemoth lab crawler ready to challenge the dunes themselves. It is time to discover and research what lies beyond them!

Since the release of set 70841 Benny's Space Squad that I wanted to do something with it so I delved into Classic Space. (Sorry no trans yellow cockpits like these ones)

The pinnacle of Federation design, The LL-928 Galaxy Explorer lasted generations longer than virtually any other craft. Its combination of speed, power, and adaptability made it not just a perennial favourite amongst Federation pilots, but also a symbol of the Federation's mission as a whole.

Proudly presenting instructions for a studless Galaxy Explorer which you can build at home. Even if you don't buy them, would be a huge hlep to me if you checked them out, and gave them a like and comment. Designed to fit in with my design for the LL-925, it uses 99%+ modern parts, all of them common, so this should be as painless and cheap to put together as possible! It's a light bley version of my LL-929, which is itself an homage to Peter Reid's evergreen LL-497, and has 1212 parts in total.

I built in a lot of play features - working landing gear, a rover which can be contained in the back, swivelling rear doors like the original, a rear folding hatch, and a hinging roof and windscreen.

Yeah, we're moving soon. This house is where PCS started, and where that era ends. Been a lot of MOCs built here, and a lot of friends build out there. All that will continue, just a few miles closer to Atlanta. Holy cow I gotta pack all this crap up.

1997’s Robo Master, the Big One from the bizarre RoboForce sub-theme!

That neon dome! And all the prints! It’s like a better version the Blacktron 2 pods, but it’s on this weird Beast Wars mecha. And it doesn’t detach to fly off. Bummer.

What does detach to fly off is pretty cool for how simplistic it is: a smaller Unitron Star Hawk II (#1789). A set design from another far superior Space sub-theme.

I don’t mean to hate on RoboForce this much, it looks cool, has tons of prints, neon transparent elements, and great minifigs with leg prints and updated helmet sculpts! All of that is awesome!

But why wasn’t this designed as a spacecraft? It would have been among the best. LEGO hadn’t figured out Mechs in ‘97, but they sure have now.

Final thought, what was the tail thing?

A weapon? A ‘robot’? A charger for the spacecraft?

More Retro Space LEGO sets to be featured soon, including more RoboForce

A self contained Research Base, built on a planet in the cold icy depths of space.

The first floor houses the main access airlock and the lab and bio-dome where the scientists carry out all their experiments.

The second floor houses the habitation block, with bunk beds, a kitchenette and toilet facilities.

The third floor has a store and laundry and a second airlock allowing roof access.

The roof contains all the communication equipment and an observation (or angry) dome.

1995’s Spyrius Surveillance Scooter and alt builds

This little gem is the smallest set in my collection. Check out how small the box is, seeing this is like time traveling!

More retro LEGO, including more Spyrius coming soon, BrickLink rocks

A variant 409 where I'm trying to be more like Nnenn. Inspired by the Quataxian fighter:

www.flickr.com/photos/nnenn/425182460/

After the success of the LL331 Eagle, this fighter was upgraded to include more fire power and interstellar capabilities. Based on the same design as the LL331, the LL332 Eagle MkII includes dual hyperdrive engines and missiles on each wing.

The crew of LL-928 explore a planet rich with ancient life

JJ and Jason started chanting SpaceTrain! at the last PortLUG meeting so had to start messing around with the idea. Here is what I have so far. Think I get to start learning about o-rings and weights for better adhesion.

This classic space vehicle can launch satellites into far orbit even on high gravity planets as long as they are atmosphere-less. It has a closed cockpit for accessing remote launch sites. The 4 front wheels have sterring while the 4 rear ones are on a mobile bogie.

It is a redesing of the set 6950, Mobile Rocket Transport

While editing the phots, I found out the side ladder is crooked. I may make another set of pictures in the future.

Was it a ground vehicle? Was it a robot? Was it a giant space puppy with a detachable head and prehensile tail? Yes to all of the above.

From the Brickish AGM in Sheffield

During the early days of the Civil Space Police, they fielded the Solar Vanguard, a hybrid interceptor/perp transport.

The Solar Vanguard was mostly used on sleepy backwater worlds to apprehend rogue Blacktron agents committing minor offenses such as jay-walking, spitting, and public drunkeness.

Quick, well-armed, and holding an internal single holding cell, this is one Space Police craft not to take lightly.

Separated from his unit and all alone on the strange alien world, Sargent Grimes couldn't help feeling he was being watched...
