Alligators were mainly used on swampy planets such as Sqornshellous Zeta. This meant that they never featured in the photographs of arid lunar deserts that form our stereotype of a Classic Space scene. After the over exploitation of the indigenous mattresses, vast nature reserves were set up to protect the dwindling numbers of rare king-sized, pocket-sprung, orthopaedics. The Alligator vehicles proved ideal for scientists to travel across the swamps and monitor population numbers.
This vehicle was inspired by David Alexander Smith's Photostream. It's full of all sorts of Classic Space machines. I especially wanted to stick with conventional, studs up, building technique. Another part of getting the look seems to be using sloped not the newer curved bricks.
The shape and functionality were inspired by the new Technic turntable. This has no teeth on it inside. The hole is big enough for the spacemen to squeeze through from the front to the back compartment.
Lunar pick-up truck. Play features include opening cockpit, 360 degree swiveling crane arm, retractable ladder and deployable cargo arm. This would be fun to play with if the chassis wasn't so delicate!

I have created an Instagram page for the game Classic Space Adventure. You can follow it here if you are intrested.
Classic Space Adventure is a free fanmade webgame I have created that you play in your browser (Chrome or Firefox) using your keyboard, It is inspired by the Classic Space theme by LEGO®, so you will notice many of these sets in the game, recreated in a pixelated style.
Play the game here, or check out the webpage for the game here.
There is also a Facebook page for this game that you can follow.
The Blacktron Legacy had many great ships, none less than the Allied Avenger.
After many years, the Allied Avenger was replaced with the Revenger. Armed with improvements such as larger size which leads to more crew and weaponry, the Revenger then saw expanded use in Blacktron space. The Denizens of Local Space just thought it was an Allied Avenger spacecraft that was closer, and thusly blew them up much fast with triton torpedoes.
*Design note: the aim was to cop the original Allied Avenger (that I twice owned!) in shape and overall scope. I feel the overall design philosophy has been upsized and also refined with new LEGO pieces and components.
Today, a Blacktron version of a iconic Classic Space set, the famous 6927 ,released in 1981.
I didn't have it when I was a child, but I really love it since I bought the regular version on BL a few years ago. Even if I'm a bit amused by the "Mickey ears" on the top ^^
Didn't expect that, did ya? :)
That's right, it's a LEGO Ideas submission! Check out all the details on the Ideas page: ideas.lego.com/projects/a45496e2-db91-477e-99de-634a14439874
It was the year 1979 when LEGO launched one of the sets that became among the most iconic in the AFOL world: the 928 set.
The Classic Space theme was launched just a year earlier in 1978 and this set became a legend because it represented the most beautiful and largest spaceship in the entire fleet. It is incredible to think of the success that this set of only 338 pieces has had if we compare it to those on sale today, but in those days we were children who dreamed of having this box and our best memories are linked to it.
In '79 I was just 5 years old and I have never been able to have this box, too expensive for my parents, but I have always dreamed of it looking at it in the catalogs. Finally as an adult I looked for it and managed to buy it!
All this premise was used to introduce my new work: the Galaxy Explorer SDR-926! This year I am 10 years old as AFOL and I thought about making mocs that have a special meaning for me. The first of these was the desire to make a spaceship of some importance! SDR-926 wants to be a tribute to the 928 but with very different characteristics and numbers. Number 926 represents the birth of my daughter. The spaceship measures 85 x 75 x 21 cm and is made up of almost 4600 pieces! It took me 5 intense months to make it because it contains several features and functionalities in a single work.
Thank you for watching!

My contribution to the 30th anniversary classic space project on neoclassicspace.
A mid-sized, mid-range cargo freighter, designed to function and to last a lifetime. Dedicated to the hard working staff of spacemen who keep the federation up and running behind the scenes.
As all spacemen know, exploring the outer reaches of the galaxy used to involve filling in mountains of forms and other paperwork. This generated huge quantities of recycled paper and as spacemen only ate food pills, their need for toilet tissue was somewhat limited. Llwyngwril Space Systems saw an opportunity in this problem and its designers came up with the first ever spacecraft to be built from compressed paper.
The Outer-space Recycled Intermediate Ground-launched Aerial Manned Interceptor or ORIGAMI was rumoured to have had a larger design team working on the acronym than on the actual spacecraft. Llwyngwril Space Systems' Chief Designer denied other rumours circulating in the press that he had copied the design from a paper dart, thrown at him from across the office.
The ship proved to be quite successful on colder, drier planets. Unfortunately it had a tendency to catch fire when used too near to a sun. ORIGAMIs based on humid planets went soggy after a few months, resulting in several crash landings when the engines fell off.
ORGAMIs were launched from a special vehicle, equipped with a throwing arm. Being Classic Space, these vehicles were steered using joysticks, whilst the spacecraft were controlled using a steering wheel.
I've replaced the three generic smiling faces with more expressive ones, to give Benny's Squad more character depth. Base is Super Sculpey Firm.

Failing that place a call to the Fire Brigade of the future.
There is no better time to post a civilian mecha then right after a civilian mecha contest. In truth, Ive been kicking about this idea for some time, I am glad I finally managed to build it ;)

During the early days of the Civil Space Police, they fielded the Solar Vanguard, a hybrid interceptor/perp transport.
The Solar Vanguard was mostly used on sleepy backwater worlds to apprehend rogue Blacktron agents committing minor offenses such as jay-walking, spitting, and public drunkeness.
Quick, well-armed, and holding an internal single holding cell, this is one Space Police craft not to take lightly.
Another alternate build I've made, this time using all the parts from the set 6891 (released in 1985).
Not very happy with the back section - But I like the overall style of this "little bird" ^^
