This is fake news. It isn't a real ex BR loco but 1948 English Electric (Dick Kerr Preston works) EE1553 built for industrial service and formerly used by ICI on Teesside and painted to resemble a BR class 11. Prior to coming here it was at the Mid Hants Railway.

Plenty of toots and hoots going on, on the Watercress Line, last Saturday.
Wish I had my tripod, a bit shaky, but lots of action going on here. Apologies for the wobbles and panning.
Some photos taken at the “Trainspotter’s Ball”, the name given to the Mid Hants Railway Diesel Gala held from 26th to 28th April 2002. This was a fine weekend with a wide variety of locos in action “over the Alps” involving 1 in 60 gradients.

Love or Hate it, To me this just proves that even though the 50's never carried Intercity Executive or Swallow liveries, it really suits it and it should have been the natural progression after large logo livery for them instead of the awful NWSE livery

Man, don't you hate it when buildings only have a limit of a few million pounds of class 1.3 explosives?

# 1.3 Mass fire, minor blast or fragment hazard
This was on our way in :) Luckily we didn't hit the visitors limit.
The accessibility and friendliness of the Mid-Hants Railway make pictures like this possible. On a summer Saturday, mixed traction at Ropley was represented by (from camera) Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 92212, Class 11 shunter 12049 and Class 37 37324 'Clydebridge'.

I went to the trouble of trying the scanner which proved to be poor but I though I may as well upload the photo anyhow.
A view of Kidderminster yard on May 25th 1998. Present are Class 27 D5410, Class 11 12099 & Class 50s D444, 50031 'Hood' & 50035 'Ark Royal' 50031 was having a rest following its working of a combined steam & diesel tour to Plymouth on the 16th of May. 50035 was undergoing an engine overhaul, 50044 was operational as was D5410. The 11 was stabled as I recall. This scene has changed beyond all recognition & definitely for the better.
