a NS local pull up to Park ave with some hopper car for portlock, not sure why

CSX power sits in Berkeley yard on the curve with a newly released CW40-9 in YN3 paint. This is my second time seeing a CSX CW40-9 and its a great feeling seeing a era you missed and having a second chances of seeing it.

NV01 begins to pull up to Portlock Rd with NS #6110 at the lead. Had to wait back at Carolina junction and wait for 29G to head up to Bridge 7.

NV01 I believe pulls up to Portlock rd. and has its engine #6110 sit on the crossing. had a very impatience drive who was honking at the train.

In all of my years railfanning the Lurgan Branch I've never managed to catch the local freight, until now. This unit was trailing on the train as it headed West (South).

Empty coal "buckets" (Bethgons) are headed West past Rose Yard in Altoona, PA on NS's Pittsburgh Line. There are windmills on the hill in the background, too.

Due to work in a tunnel, CSX has been detouring several trains per day over NS. I finally caught one of them headed East on the Harrisburg line in Hummelstown, PA.

Too bad I couldn't catch one with the sun on the nose.

Amtrak 14 begins to pull out of Roanoke with a Norfolk southern Dash 9 leading. from what i heard the Amtrak engine #172 was having engine trouble so the put a NS engine on the train instead.

CSX W943 sits in the NPBL yard with a very clean YN2 Dash 8 leading. One of my recent attempts at a night time shot and I'm pretty pleased on how it came out, even if its a bit grainy.

Heavy Power

Traveling home in the rain, I saw this guy, and stopped to take a few photos. The lighting was really all over the map, and this was the only good shot I could get without trespassing.

Baltimore, Md

Making a pitstop in Laurel, Montana, we find BNSF 2806 switching out the Westend of the yard with very blue sky’s to boot. Was my first time seeing a BN unit in action and was definitely something to take in. Was even better to see a old GP30 in action

York Races - Wednesday 17th August 2022

NS 233 picks up his conductor at Shell road with two ACe up front and a Dash 9 following.

NS 41N running notch 8 by Yadkin with a single AC44C6M at the lead. Pretty interesting vibe to see a signal engine on a grain train, no DPU

a NS Manifest rolls by the east end of the Roanoke shops with a C6M leader.

NS #4009

NS #1210

NS #1216

CSX manifest pulls into collier yard with CSX 927 on the lead.

NS 234 zigzags across the points at west end portlock on a very cloudy evening with two BNSF engines in the consist at 1:31PM. Was really happy with this picture and consist, i loved seeing a H2 Dash 9 for the first.

CSX E105-20 begins its journey to Clifton Forge with CSX #3324 leading the charge outside of Newport News with 198 empty's

NS 40N running by Yadkin with a tier 4 leader, had a very friendly crew up front, was also pretty crazy we had two grain trains on the Norfolk sub just in under 15 minutes. Sky is really cool to look at in the shot to, started poring rain only 10 minutes after this shot.
