The narrow and tall window next to the front doors is rather sweet.

Built in 1970, this Modern Brutalist-style building was designed by Glaser, Myers and Associates to serve as additional classroom, lecture hall, and lab space for the University of Cincinnati. The building is relatively low-slung with tapered concrete buttresses puncturing the glass curtain walls and brown brick cladding on the north and east facades, a rooftop lawn and plaza with a metal staircase descending to Library Square, and a loading dock at the building’s northwest corner. Inside, the building features several levels with brick walls, terrazzo floors, concrete and metal balconies overlooking spaces on lower floors, and several large curved lecture halls. The building serves programs that are part of the College of Engineering and Applied Science, as well as the College of Arts and Sciences.

This is the elegant ellipsoidal pavilion of the new Cedar Suite at the 5 Star Grove Hotel at Chandlers Cross, designed by Purcell and Martin Hulbert Design with AECOM as Structural Engineers, Galliford Try as main contractor and their appointed metal roofing and cladding specialist contractor, CEL Group.

The Cedar Suite is a 150 cover conference and wedding facility, incorporating a 13x20m elliptical pavilion occupying a garden setting adjacent to the main buildings of The Grove. The unique form of the glass and copper ellipse was developed by the design team as a complete contrast to the existing architecture, following an inspirational set of design meetings.
