Cladding in low-friction ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has solved movement problems on package transport chutes at international express courier company DHL's sorting centers. DHL chose TIVAR DrySlide because packages often got stuck on it's original unlined metal chutes, especially when going around right angled corners. Alternative solutions the company tested, including PTFE, wore off quickly because of their poor abrasion resistance. DHL had been lubricating the chutes by spring them with silicon or graphite, but was looking for a more environment-friendly solution that would not contaminate the parcels, nor require ongoing maintenance, cleaning and downtime. DHL saves thousands of dollar each month in reduced manning needs from package jams, material costs, operation run time and reduced product damage.
Although TIVAR DrySlide is a plastic; it has electrostatic dissipation properties, so it works well in dusty environments. It has a high abrasion resistance, a high impact resistance and it also helps reduce noise. There are no we lubricants to mar packages and the material does not corrode or degrade it any way. TIVAR Dryslide's moisture absorption is virtually zero and the material is stabilized against UV radiation.
Pajama-clad, sort of awake, buried in blankets. I don't want to be that person who has a whimsical headshot that just winds up attracting too much attention to their quirky uniqueness, but I do like this picture better.

Built in 1923, and designed by Harry Hake, this Renaissance Revival-style limestone-clad building at the corner of Scott Boulevard and East 11th Street replaced an earlier telephone exchange located at 4th and Court in the old Monarch Auto Building. The building is a contributing structure in the Helentown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
Timber weatherboards on a shed at our digs. Taken around f/4, the focus drops off sharply, within 2 feet (600mm). Had trouble finding focus today

Dendrogram created from serological typing strains using the E. faecalis MLST database efaecalis.mlst.net.Multi-locus sequence typing (MLST) of E. faecalis isolates was based on sequences of internal gene fragments for 7 housekeeping genes. Each gene variation (for each of the seven genes) is assigned a unique allele number. The combination of the 7 allele numbers (allelic profile) for each strain defines the multi-locus sequence type, or ST. The relatedness of isolates based on sequence type is shown as an unrooted cladogram, determined by (UPGMA) analysis of the allelic profiles. Boxed isolates represent the most common serotypes found in human populations in previous studies [25], [40].
