Cladding in low-friction ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has solved movement problems on package transport chutes at international express courier company DHL's sorting centers. DHL chose TIVAR DrySlide because packages often got stuck on it's original unlined metal chutes, especially when going around right angled corners. Alternative solutions the company tested, including PTFE, wore off quickly because of their poor abrasion resistance. DHL had been lubricating the chutes by spring them with silicon or graphite, but was looking for a more environment-friendly solution that would not contaminate the parcels, nor require ongoing maintenance, cleaning and downtime. DHL saves thousands of dollar each month in reduced manning needs from package jams, material costs, operation run time and reduced product damage.
Although TIVAR DrySlide is a plastic; it has electrostatic dissipation properties, so it works well in dusty environments. It has a high abrasion resistance, a high impact resistance and it also helps reduce noise. There are no we lubricants to mar packages and the material does not corrode or degrade it any way. TIVAR Dryslide's moisture absorption is virtually zero and the material is stabilized against UV radiation.

Cette oeuvre éphémère, ouverte au public présente plusieurs interpretations de Furoshikis par des artistes contemporains et des créateurs de mode. L'installation est présentée dans le cadre du Tandem Paris-Tokyo et Japonismes 2018.

The timber from the old washback from Glenrothes Distillery, gets a couple of coats of preservative. The black marks are from the iron hoops used to hold the washback together.
Timber weatherboards on a shed at our digs. Taken around f/4, the focus drops off sharply, within 2 feet (600mm). Had trouble finding focus today

The offside rear door cladding has come adrift from the door, and whenever the front rear is opens a collision of plastic occurs!
Luckily there is YouTube video showing how to remove the trim and re-fit. Very useful.
I needed to purchase a rubber wheel specifically for removing the remnants of the very strong self-adhesive foam tape.
New lower clips were fitted (the originals broke) along with new automotive grade self-adhesive foam tape.
Presses into place and held for a short time with clamps. All complete and has stayed in place since.
Note there is no corrosion whatsoever.
