A powerful bolt connects with the Willis Tower's antenna.
Set Description: Found a great new protected spot to watch & shoot lighting. Glad the skies cooperated for me. Earlier in the evening these storms were bordering on sever, but weakened as they approached Chicago. Despite the drop in power, there was still a bit of lighting shooting out of the sky.

A beautifully frigid, sunny morning. Why fight the cold when you can embrace it?
Set description: The polar vortex has made its return to Chicago, once again turning the area into Chiberia. While not quite as cold as the last time this arctic air mass visited, it was cold enough (and pretty enough) for some cool photos along the lake near North Avenue Beach

Looking straight east over the lake. I ha;f expect penguins to surface and slide along the ice shelf.
Set Description: I couldn't help myself. I bundled up and took a quick walk along the lakefront to catch the steam rising off Lake Michigan. Freezing is an understatement. my fingers were numb after just 15 minutes - through 2 layers of gloves. My eyelashes, eyebrows, face mask, and hat even grew icicles

Chicago's skyline from North Avenue Beach during the blue hour just before sunrise on September 4, 2016.
Twin bolts drop from the sky and strike in the vicinity of Willis Tower. It appears one bolt hit the antenna, but I can't figure out where the other hit.
