Hard not to photograph these at this time of year. They are flitting all over the place at Kensington.
Chipmunks seem to be always on the alert. With good reason, too. I've read that they have a relatively short life span due to having so many predators.

I took time out from shooting moose last summer to "go small". This little guy was munching on a wild strawberry in the high country of Colorado.
Thia cutie lives in our backyard. I started feeding him last Spring, then I felt very guilty because we should never feed wild life. So I stopped and since then I feel guilty that I don't feed him anymore, after I got him used to it. Go figure. He's still there, I see him every day, so he didn't die or anything, but I feel really terrible anyways.
This female lives in our garden and has become quite tolerant of me, so I was able to take this from a distance of about 12 inches. She was hovering near the entrance to her burrow under a patch of lupine.

this Eastern Chipmunk has moved into his Condo. An old stump out back by our Brush pile. from the Sunflower seed I am going through, I think he will be set for the Winter.

This is the most widely occurring species in Canada. It prefers sagebrush deserts, pastures, piney woods, rocky cliffs, and open coniferous forests.

We don't see many Chipmunks around here, but I was lucky enough to get a few quick pictures before he ran away.
I'll try to get around to everyones photos tonight. I've hardly taken any pictures in the last few weeks because it's been so cold and snowy here. Also, our new pup has been keeping me very busy...he's a little monster!! LOL :o)
