We have two chipmunks that visit the garden. I caught them the other day in a battle over some sunflower seeds. This is the victor standing guard and giving him that “make a move I dare you” look. LOL

Have a wonderful new week Flickr friends. Tina and the Puglets xo

I would like to thank all of you that have taken the time to view and comment on my photos, it is very much appreciated. Constructive criticism and tips on how to improve my novice photography skills are always welcomed.

The weather is turning cooler, definitely seeing a lot of chipmunks out and about preparing for winter rest.

So much cuteness! The little thing came out of its hole in the tree stump to pose like a model for the camera. Photo chosen for front page of Colors of the Heart, April 2023.

A chipmunk trying to cross the path in front of us ✔️✔️

Modeling for me on top of a neighbor's rock wall.

I believe this is an Eastern Chipmunk. They are very curious and it played hide-and-seek with me for 20 minutes, darting for cover one minute and peeking back up the next :)

Late afternoon sun providing the nice backlighting here.

Enjoy!

There are ten different species of chipmunk in Colorado and to say I am a little confused by the identification of this one is an understatement. My best guess is that this is a Least Chipmunk. Photos online show it to look like this one, but some online sources claim that they only live up to 2,200 metres. That's a bit of a problem as this one was photographed at the summit of Handies Peak which stands at 4,285 metres or over 14,000 feet. So if anyone can positively identify this little chap please feel free to do so.

If you feed them ... they will come!

I thought we had 2 chipmunks around the yard. Put out 2 cups of peanuts and found out there are A LOT more than 2!

And so the tiny beetle was a perfect protein lunch for my friend.

I couldn't resist this cute little chipmunk scurrying around gathering the sunflower seeds. Luckily he stopped long enough to eat one too! One of those rare occasions I could actually snap a shot! St Elmo, Colorado.

I made it through the hurricane just fine, it was a long and violent one, until you are in it, you don't realize how relentless they are and this one was so big and long, it was over me for 24 hours.. Needless to say I don't care to do that one over! I want to thank you all for your prayers and concern.

Have a wonderful week ahead!

It's been raining (again) so in this portrait you can see the little tiny waterdrops on his whiskers. I say "his" but the truth is I have no clue on the gender!

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment, and fave my photo is really appreciated have a nice weekend everyone :)

It's time to make stocks for the long winter

Shot through a window, looks like the autofocus locked up on the brick facing.

This little chipmunk lives in my backyard and likes sunflower seeds..my other little friend comes from across the street to get peanuts.

Zip on lookout for chipmunks on front porch.

This little chipmunk posed for

a series of photos, and it worked for peanuts...or sunflower seeds.

Another shot in my multiples series, a Least Chipmunk seems to be sharing a secret with a friend. These little charmers were photographed in Roosevelt National Forest, Colorado.

Young Chipmunks on Stack Rock Trail just north of Boise, Idaho

I spent a couple of hours stalking this little guy, in the garden of our holiday rental, last week. After a couple of frustratingly fleeting glimpses, he finally came out of hiding & remained still for long enough for me to steal a couple of shots.

Chipmunk's Prayer ....

It's spring, the chipmunk is awake, thank you creator for letting me survive the winter ....
