I got on the floor and shot this through the patio doors! lol I think this chipmunk is cuter than a bug's ear! lol I keep throwing seed on the deck for him. Wishing everyone a great week! Smiles!
EXPLORED-May 2020 Last June I had to put my cat to sleep. Well, as soon as he was gone, the little chipmunks were brave enough to come around. I started tossing a few peanuts out in the mornings when I had my latte on the porch. Little by little I coaxed them up to me to take one. Then over the winter, I left a jar of sunflower seeds out for them, hoping they would stay around. I was so happy that it didn't take long at all for them to remember me!

My youngest spooked this chipmunk just enough to give me this awesome pose. Normally he spooks animals away....so we high fived a lot after i got this image.
My cats thoroughly enjoy the antics of the many chipmunks chasing around our house during the summer months. This baby was sitting on the front stoop just a few feet on the other side of the window from my Maggie.
This shot is from down at Camp Meriwether, the boy scout camp at the Oregon coast. I was sitting in camp reading (the boys were off doing Merit Badges), when one of the other leaders pointed this guy out, high in a bush. I grabbed my camera and got focus, then it hunched up in the bush, perfectly aligned with the light spot. Couldn't have planned it better myself!
This little guy showed up in the neighborhoods near Kent Gardens Park, McLean, Virginia this week. Been many years since chipmunks have been seen here. Hope the nearby humans are visible enough to protect it from the fox, owl, hawk and even coyote that have been spotted nearby.
This is one of a couple little chipmunks that come daily and take as many nuts as they can, getting ready for winter hibernation. One of them even lets me pat him while stuffing those little cheeks.
