My wife's employer provided her supper this evening so I went the easy route. Stopped at Hardee's for an All Star Box that included a double cheeseburger, fries, a lone onion ring, a chili dog and a chocolate chip cookie.

Ran out after work to grab a hot dog and check out the classic car cruise night that meets every monday night at the galloping hill inn. [car pics to come later]

When you hear about the Coney Island culture in Detroit -- American and Lafayette, the dueling neighbors downtown, but also the ubiquity of Coney joints throughout the metropolitan area -- you're tempted to think that, man, Detroit sure does like its chili dogs. But that's not really it. It's just one slice of the notion that Detroit is a veritable mecca of casual dining. You can get a hot dog at any Coney place, and these downtown competitors specialize in them, but more broadly a Coney joint is a diner. The ones farther out serve anything and everything, including breakfast all day. They're diners, basically. As are the area's many slider emporiums. As are the area's many "family restaurants." As are the area's many "ham and corned beef" joints. And I'm not even getting into the pizza culture. You could gain a lot of weight for not a lot of money in the Motor City and its sprawling suburbs.

For lunch, I had a PB&J, corn chips and a banana. I am five.

Some of my wife's family came to visit us from out of state. On Saturday we spent the afternoon at South of the Border. Near the end of our visit, we went to the top of the Sombrero Tower where this photo was captured.

One great thing about Turner Field is that it has a lot of opinions to eat. However I have been to numerous Braves games and had many other items, BBQ, Nachos, Hamburger, Chicken Fingers ect. Yet there is nothing like eating a hot dog at a Braves game! Just something about it goes so well with Brave's baseball!
