Everyone old enough to remember when Elvis died knows what they were doing when they heard the news of his death. I was eating a "Coney Island" from this famous store when I heard the news. Tried some on my visit back home and tasted exactly the same as I remembered

Pretzel? In Germany we say Brezel or Breze.

The last known picnic dinner I would get to have with my friends. Chili dog, cheeseburger, mozzarella sticks, and potato salad. In June 2019 at Wickham Park in Manchester, CT.

The mosquitos ran us inside but that didn't stop us from a traditional Independence Day fare!

I believe in taking pride in whatever you do. It was obvious this young man was a hard worker. It's blazing hot working behind the griddle in the heat. This food stand doesn't magically appear at the corner of Bryant Park. He has to haul his cart all the way to his preferred location and back every morning and night. And don't forget there are still some hills in Manhattan.

Props to this guy for taking pride in himself, his work, and the city. People like you keep the city fun, exciting, and memorable.

With the cast of MASH looking on, we enjoyed a couple of hotdogs from Tony Packo’s.

Just a day two after I shot this older wall art, Bayne added a bit extra to it. Took my grandson with me to re-shoot it this morning.

This somewhat very modest "historical building" was designed by an architect. As such, it is protected from what would have been almost certain demolition when the shopping mall-not in the frame- but right behind it was built in the late 1980s.

What can be considered a small size "greasy spoon" dinner is categorized as an LA County 'landmark' with an official plate.

On a technical note, this shot is yet a sad reminder of how pedestrian digital photography is compared to film. A decade ago, I would have used something like my ContaxG1, Leica M6 or Nikon F loaded with Kodachrome 64 ASA or even 200 ASA.

Twenty five years ago, I would have used, yet a better stock which was the awesome Kodachrome 25 ASA discontinued before the other two. Why would a manufacturer like Kodak discontinue their best products? It seems suicidal to me.....

Like snowflakes, every food cart is different.

Hot dogs are different wherever you go. I grew up with the NYC hot dog (hot sauerkraut, mustard, and saucy onions), learned to love the Detroit chili cheese dog, but whenever I'm in Toledo, I have to have a hot dog. In Toledo, the chili is a thin, meaty sauce, and everything includes raw onions and yellow mustard.

This hot dog is from Rudy's Hot Dog, my favorite hot dog place. Everyone talks about Tony Packo's, which is an experience, but I'd rather go to Rudy's for some simple fare.

as seen on the small green sign, to the right of the doorman.

In honor of the opening day/night of Baseball season, dinner at the Foster household is Chili Dogs. Homemade bean-free chili, Ball Park All-Beef Hot Dogs with cheese and onions. I have mine with mustard and ketchup. I'll be regretting this tomorrow.
