I was a bit taken aback when Mike ordered ten of these, for the four of us. "They're small," he said. They were good in that gnarly way that many greasy foods are, but if I'd eaten more than two I would have hurled.

Georgia Avenue in Lower Petworth, Washington DC.

Our charming neighborhood bar has been sold to the owners of the nearby Wonderland Ballroom. There's room in paradise for both establishments. Each have their merits: Wonderland has its chilidog and Dragon Stout, and Temperance has its garlic-fries and Overholt rye.

But would the kneejerk whiners shut-the-hell-up please... It could've been infinitely worse. See the shredded remnants of Chinatown or Silver Spring for examples. Temperance could just as easily have become a friggin' Starbucks. For my part, I reserve further comment until it reopens as the Looking Glass Lounge.

But, *snif*... I will miss the old gal...

The bun doing its job. Do some work, bun.

I used this recipe, but just half to yield 8 buns.

This is in Oceanside. It's a historic landmark (among other things). They make a serious chilidog here.

A must-visit place if you are ever in Fort Wayne, Indiana: Coney Island, downtown on Main Street. Great coney dogs! Photo edited with the CameraBag app.

So what if I took practically this exact same picture last year (. . . and the year before). It's tradition, it's tasty, it's photogenic, and I can. not. resist it.

Danelectro DJ12 Chili Dog Octave pedal.

Like the direct level at just over a half, one octave down full on and two octaves down about a quarter.

Auburn, IN: The Brown House is known locally for their chili dogs, shakes, and malts. My grandma used to work there "back in the day." It's a drive-thru or walk-up. No eat in.

But since the older one already has comments and has been favorited I don't feel right deleting it. Therefore I'm doubling up.

EDIT: You know what? Since I've got 'em both up, why don't you use this space to tell me which one you personally like better?

EDIT to EDIT: I removed the old one. It was just too gross.

Pinks Famous hot dogs Hollywood, Los Angeles California

The Paratrooper ride was on the opposite end of the midway from this food trailer. I noticed the reflection of the ride (above the menu) after getting home and editing the pictures.

The historic Weenie Beenie. One of Arlington's many recognizable food establishments.

Bratwurst Junkyard dogs from The Dog Pit on Monroe Center. Downtown Grand Rapids. I don't think they could put much else on these other than salt.

They were still open AFTER 12:30 am this morning.

When you visit Pinks, one usually has to stand in line anywhere between 30 min to an hour. Since this was my first visit we doubled up on some items, chili cheese dogs and polish sausage and instead of fries we opted for the nachos. so yum...
