Every year, in Leeds, Yorkshire there is a German Market for Christmas.
This Kindelmarket is one of the most established German Christmas Markets in the UK, with traditional wooden stalls, festive greenery, Christmas carousel ride and twinkling colourful lights all creating a unique continental festive atmosphere in the heart of Leeds city centre.
The fragrance of pine, food and glue-wine is attractive!
Glass baubles, wooden toys and colourful candles from Continental Europe are a jolly note in this otherwise dark month of December.
A great atmosphere.
How I remember the thrill and feeling in my tummy when swinging in these littles seats, haha.
I wish you a day full of peace and goodness, thank you, M, (*_*)

I'm back! A few days away from the computer and I'm feeling recharged!
Sylvia and her girls arrived Thursday night. I shut the computer off when they got here and am just booting up for the first time now.
Nice to actually spend some face to face time instead of some screen to screen time.
Picked up this shot Friday night when we all ventured to the fair; it wasn't as enjoyable as it has been in the past, but we still managed to have a good time.
The girls certainly weren't complaining!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and is having a good Monday.

Lately I've been feeling rather poignant in regards to my children growing up. It's their job, and my job is to help them do it well, but... oh, the fleeting nature of that time. It makes me ache.
Image made with my Hasselblad 500 C/M.
This is my cherished first camera given to me as a present when I was a child. Happy crazy Tuesday everyone!!
A visit to this old man's school....many memories of those early childhood days and boyhood friends flood his mind.

After all this "growing up" I can honestly say I love swings... I can still recall the first time I learnt to swing by myself and that awesome butterfly feeling in my stomach. I think I've outgrown this particular swing though :p
It's funny the memories that stay with you through time and it's sad when I think of all the days in my life where I actually can't remember what I did or what my thoughts were.
I haven't been able to use my new cam as I bought it body only and wasn't able to collect a lens from my cousin in the end this weekend. Anyhoo, I already ordered the ones I wanted so hopefully they will be here sooon! I'm so poor it's ridiculous. Meh. Still.. can't wait to finally play with it! Tehehe :D
In the meanwhile.. there is nothing wrong with a good ol' point and shoot!

People change with time. There are things that happened to a person in his childhood and years later they seem to him alien and strange. I am trying to decipher that child. Sometimes he is a stranger to me. When you think about when you were 14, don't you feel a certain alienation?
One of our daughters' prized possessions. Shot with a lighting technique I just learned about, i.e. a softbox that was heavily feathered. It produced the background gradations from darker to lighter which helps to add some separation between the subject and background without the need for elaborate post work.
Taken for the Macro Mondays challenge, "Childhood Toys", on 10 June 2019. Hands up if you've still got your old Meccano set tucked away in a cupboard.
A masked child looking at an empty bench, ignoring the beautiful scene just to her left.
We need each other.
