He is one of my neighbor's grandsons and they were hunting Easter eggs. He was in such awe of all that was going on.

“When we are children we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind".

macro mondays theme: "blues"
this old "Schuco" car the most popular toy of my childhood
Don't I give you variety???
This week's Macro Mondays theme is "Childhood Toys". I'm a 1958 version so my childhood was a while ago. My children have grown up and I'm now a grandfather. But I've had some 26 homes and lots of removals, some across the world, so most of my own toys vanished a long, long time ago. I do have toys, particularly farm toys, that came from the era of my childhood, which I collected for my children and grandchildren to enjoy: retro, vintage toys to them.
So I thought I would struggle for this theme until I remembered a shoebox my parents gave me just a couple of years ago when they were having a clear out.
And in it I found this Lesney N0.3 Bedford 7 1/2 ton tipper truck. Just two and a half inches long. Made in England. I can date it to 1962 when we lived in Singapore, and my father had set up his Marklin trainset on a big table. There's me captured in his cine film putting the little lorry on the back of a train truck. I was curious, with the benefit of Google, to find out more, and came across this website www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk/1index/xx3b.htm . Sure enough my truck is a series 'two' with black baseplate, maroon tipper, silver highlighting, no exhaust brace and without the later strengthening castings. Definitely about 1962. And this really is one of my original childhood toys!
Having been encouraged to dig back by the Macro Mondays theme I was so interested to learn 57 years late what an interesting history there is to my childhood toys en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesney_Products#History

Do Not Rush
Hold on!
Do not rush into tomorrow.
Too soon
childhood will be done
and all the years
that lie before you then
will not be simple ones
even when you rest
on the border in-between
innocence
and grown up dreams.
Do not leap ahead
eager to shed
what you will one day
long for, tenderly
and wish you had instead

When my passed enough time; my memory recall - 'Where are you going?'. I'm stopped. I think you also. Most of us leave place, time and memory also. Sometimes we're unexpectedly going to be a alienated.
Nowadays ago I feel a boy (Faruque) knock my memories and I shoot him.
But he is still alive in my photographs with my/our childhood territory...
