Poesiealbum:
Die Tage der Kindheit sind heiter und schön,
nur schade, dass sie so schnell vergehn.
Die glücklichen Tage, die fröhlichen Stunden.
Kaum dass man es ahnt, sind sie verschwunden.
It took nerves of steel and a steady hand to set up this shot! And no, they're not stuck down - all free-standing!
My childhood memory is a blurry landscape with the ocassional color that splashes through.
Carefree, sunny.

I still have a little wooden cigar box full of trinkets I stowed away when I was little...marbles & casino chips from my grandpa, bangle bracelets and seashells from my mom, and hotel chocolate wrappers and a mickey mouse necklace from my dad. This box also holds a little bag of jacks with a rubber bouncy ball I played with all the time when I was a kid. I don't think many kids play with marbles or jacks these days, but they bring back fond childhood memories for me every time I bring them out.
I decided to take a picture of this.
I was cutting airline tubing (for a fish tank; back then we only had bubble filters and air pumps) with a very sharp steak knife. I couldn't find scissors or something, I dunno; I was 10. I made a bend in the tube and dragged along the kink to make a clean cut.
The knife was FAR sharper than I thought, and the knife kept going and cut off a chunk of my knuckle like it was butter. In a panic, put the chunk of the knuckle back on my finger and sealed it shut with a band-aid and told no one. My parents were pretty neglectful, so they never knew anything was amiss, despite the sheer amount of blood I lost. It would never heal properly so for weeks I'd peel the band-aid off, press down on the wound, and try and keep it from peeling back again. Eventually, the scar healed along the bend line of the skin, except for the portion you see here which was on the edge of the wound and never got a good seal.
To this day, I have the scar because it never healed right.
This is we in our childhood. Father took us to barber shop to cut our hair. Was a bit noising & annoying but after cutting our hair we looked like a hero !!!

When a child, I had long hair and a huge collection of ribbons to match my dresses, shoes and socks.:))
Ariel and Belle were finally released from their boxes yesterday.
Washed their outfits and have fully combed Belle's ponytail, one half of Ariel's has been done just the other to go.
These characters have remained constant favourites from childhood along with others but they have never moved from the top.
I don't have a favourite "Princess," I was growing up before the Disney Princess brand had been introduced and fully established so I see all of them as characters first and for most. I admired and identified with their qualities/personality.
Whether they are Princess by title, marriage or officially part of the DP line up makes no difference to me.
Funnily enough since I got back into collecting a few years ago I don't seem to have acquired many from the DS line of Ariel and Belle as I'm really particular when it comes to their dolls. This was the first Belle DS created that I loved, the LE was disappointing. Maybe because she was created alongside one of her principle animator's who was still at WDAS?
