Former dalmeny pub. This is where my dad got his cheekbone broken by my uncle over pointless argument with the publican.Christmas eve 1985.
Every year my cousins and I used to ride this; sometimes multiple times. Around and around, both forwards and backwards. We'd scream and laugh until we cried, as everyone but the lightest one was squished.
Childhood asthma, though often manageable and not life-threatening, can sometimes be a very dangerous disease. Treatment may involve ongoing use of medication to avoid or cope with serious exacerbation of the disease.
An ounce of prevention…
Because children are often much more physically...

I've been thinking of taking an image of my house for a wee while now, as a little side series of the project. This will definitely be of the more personal images at the end of the project, but I think it will be nice to document my childhood home throughout the different seasons, different times of the day, and even the different houses I may call home.
Do you remember those times when you were thinking about life and death (and what that all means, and why people's heart suddenly stopp beating), when all you were interested in were ice cream and cartoons, when nature, diamonds and thunder-storms were more interesting than computer-games. Well welcome to childhood, or at least my childhood. The only thing missing right now are those Lego figures.
Statement of the day: Childhood rocks! Hell yeah!

April entry for Uk Challenge 'Childhood Memories'
You may recognise the pic from my avatar.
It is a shot taken by my father of my cousin David and myself.David lived with his family on a farm in Devon (still does) and most years we would go down on holiday.I loved David and followed him everywhere. We even had a pretend wedding at one stage.I think I used to drive him round the bend.
So this childhood memory is of happy family holidays.Sadly many of the family now gone.
Sewn on neutral fabric with neutral thread as I thought it would look nostalgic.Size is 7 by 5 inch

There must be peace and understanding sometime
Strong winds of promise that will blow away
the doubt and fear
If I can dream of a warmer sun
Where hope keeps shining on everyone
Tell me why, oh why, oh why won't that sun appear
We're lost in a cloud
With too much rain
We're trapped in a world
That's troubled with pain
But as long as a man
Has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly

I love to window shop, especially during this holiday season. This teddy bear reminded me of those innocent childhood days back when our dreams were so much simpler....
