Back to basics!! Today spot was "Victor Hugo" car park in Toulouse, near Capitole place. I love his architecture. I was just armed with my Canon 5D and my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8.

I walked over to Black Rock at just the right time today as there was a chess match going on. I gather there are matches every day but it’s the first one I’ve got to watch. I even missed a group playing last week ;-((

How overdue is this though!
For those of you who have been following me, you will have seen WIP's of this for several months. At some point I was done with it and I figured you guys might want to see it. So without further ado, here's a preview of my most perfect WIP to date: the Twilight Valkyrie!
I took a whole lot of (subconscious) inspiration from chaos-themed Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters, such as Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, BLS - Envoy of the Evening Twilight, Tethys, Goddess of Light, and several others.
I have always been fascinated with the concept of perfect asymmetry, that splits a being completely between light and darkness, or any other similarly conflicting powers or phenomena. I have attempted several such MOC's in the past, such as Darklight Paladin and Draxx, Return of the Magnetomenace. I have also created an LDD collab with TheOneVeyronian depicting this concept as a chess game.

Crevasse and play don’t typically go in the same sentence. This was just a bit of recreation after a chess game high in the mountains. An odd glimpse into the often eccentric side of mountain culture.

With a little imagination the gravel line points to a piece of the Alaskan chess game.
This is the beginning of a 2-mile long gorge facing the backside of the photographer.
It is on the South Slope of the Brooks Range in Alaska. The Brooks Range has the oldest mountains in Alaska. It is the home of Dall Sheep and Grizzly Bear.
The North Slope tapers into Arctic Plain which stops at the Arctic Ocean about 200 miles north of this location.
The North Slope Plain is home of huge Caribou herds.

The living room has a beautiful stone fireplace, a glass cabinet filled with travel souvenirs, a grandfather clock, a rug woven in Turkey and a spinning wheel by the red armchair. A Chess game awaits two players as well as a bottle of real scotch bought in Edinburgh.
