Simple, but delicious, I really enjoyed it. Mid afternoon, as I only just remembered.

Macro Monday's and the theme of "Smell".
A simple one this week as we were quite busy with other things.
This is a lump of soft cheese that I scooped out of it's container with a knife. It was probably around a day after it
s "Use by" date and my wife wasn't going to use the rest so I thought I would make it my subject this week.
Some cheeses have distinctive smells, especially Parmesan. It will also have one when it goes off.

'The Cheese Box' gourmet cafe and cheese shop!
397 Sydney Road, Balgowlah
I discovered this amazing cafe in June, 2020, and it is definitely one of the best, most eclectic, cafes around. And it has to be good because just a few doors along Sydney Road is the ultra hip 'Bacino Espresso Bar'.

I often travel to Fairlight and Manly Beach from the Hills District of Sydney, but then call into Balgowlah - where once upon a time I lived. This cafe is a highlight of the trip, apart from the fabulous harbourside walk from Fairlight to Manly.

ANSH 118 #4 "Say cheese"
I said cheese with these 3 cheesy items: a block of Gouda with a lot having been grated off, an unopened package of gouda cheese in block form, and a package of sliced mild cheddar. Some of both types went into making a pot of macaroni and cheese (make a roux of 1 TBS butter and flour, add light cream/half and half, slowly add graded or diced cheese, a bit of salt, and a bit of mustard powder to make the sauce).
The challenge this week for Macro Monday is "Say Cheese." No humans allowed. It's supposed to be cheese. Well, this is cheese, a Mini Babybel, saying, "Cheeeese." Tasted good too.
After some hours dancing around the cheese it becomes a little bit dirty and I eat it. It tasted wonderful. And so I got a unique capture of my cheese now, nobody else can repeat it.

Week 7 of 52
It's been a while since I uploaded anything and I missed the last photo comp so I thought I'd do it anyway. I'm not too sure the processing suits the shot but I've spent ages looking colour tones and vintage processing so I thought I'd try it...
Side note, Car Rig v1 was a fail. I found some old plastic tubing that we used for a hockey net years ago so I decided to see if it would work. It was actually quite light and surprisingly stable but the plastic couldn't take the weight of the 5d + magic arm + 17-40 and stress marks started appearing at the joins. On to v2...

Cheese Month is sadly not happening this year due to busy schedules and other building events. One day Grant and I will do it again, maybe next year. Don't get us wrong though, we love doing it!
I made this today in honor of the month.
