A small alleyway off Haiain road selling clothes and local foods. Tainan city in the south west of Taiwan was the first area to host Europeans. The old port city had fallen into decline and was rejuvenated by artists who moved into the derelict buildings and brought them back to life. 10/12/2010, Tainan, Taiwan.

For you, I'd give up all I own and move to a communist country If you came with me, of course. And I'd file my nails so they don't hurt you. And lose those pounds, and learn about football. If it made you stay, but you won't, but you won't.

Publication of 100 Bliain de Sheanad Éireann 1922-2022 edited by the Institute of Public Administration
On Wednesday, 22 February 2023 the Launch of the Publication of 100 Bliain de Sheanad Éireann 1922-2022 edited by the Institute of Public Administration will take place in the Library Reading Room Leinster House, hosted by the Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, Jerry Buttimer.
The book has been produced to commemorate and celebrate the centenary of Seanad Éireann. It draws together contributions from current senators and officeholders, a former senator, academics, and researchers and gives the reader a valuable frame of reference on the first 100 years of Seanad Éireann. This book is the final initiative of a year-long programme of commemoration for the centenary of Seanad Éireann.
Speaking ahead of the launch Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann Senator Jerry Buttimer said “since its first meeting in Leinster House on 11 December 1922, the Seanad has played an effective and essential role in our bicameral system of parliamentary democracy. Our commemorative programme captured the diverse perspectives of Seanad Éireann through the theme ‘Minority Voices, Major Changes’.”
“This publication brings our commemorative programme to its conclusion by giving us a detailed history of the Seanad in one accessible volume. It outlines the function and purpose of the Seanad and examines how it has fulfilled that function over the past 100 years. I welcome the publication of it as an important contribution to the existing literature on Seanad Éireann. I hope you enjoy reading it and learning more about the Seanad, and I have no doubt that this will be a useful reference work for scholars in years to come.”

Almost every year I take photos of this rotunda with the crocus field. I like it better around the blue hours when the rotunda is lit. This time it was during daytime. I used flash to soften the shadows in the foreground. The photo would work without flash I guess.
Strobist info:
I used a DIY twin-flash fiber optic adapter to channel the light from the external flash to the sides of the camera:

The light was softened by two home made diffusor box (out of yoghurt cans).
Nex-5 with 16mm lens was used.

Taken during a trip to a local bubble tea joint that is a favorite among my group of friends! The register-counter was lit up by these concealed lights that changed colors every few seconds... It was hypnotizing haha. Rapid-fire shot a bunch and sort of mushed them all together to get this effect!
