Year ago, someone proposed a challenge: Shoot the year 2020 with one camera and one roll of film.
The pandemic is visible in the absence of crowds, hoarding groceries, making sausages at home, in empty malls and meeting friends in video calls.
Looking back, I wish my shooting had been somehow magically coherent, but this kind of random shooting works against it. Also, I hadn't made up my mind whether I would focus on annual cycle, zeitgeist & phenomena or a personal chronicle. As a result it is a bit of each.
In August my Chinon got stuck so badly I had to switch cameras in middle-roll.
This was a fun project!

This piece didn't turn out like I wanted it to but I had so much into it that I didn't want to quit. I need to find a good white pen/pencil to work on black. Any thoughts?
The slalom winner! One could hear my cry of joy a mile away as soon as i saw this shot on my camera's screen!! =)

After a while at Ferrari of Atlanta, the owner of this beautiful Challenge Stradale drove off. It was sad to see it go, but there is one positive to it leaving: Listening to that Ferrari V8.
I am participating in the Strada Easel January Challenge. Quite a commitment - a painting a day for 31 days! It has to be a subject that you are looking at. Not from a photo. And it must be painted AND posted that day! Currently there are 876 participants from all over the world. But as the days go by, people drop out. Five lucky winners from the remaining participants will be chosen at the end of the challenge and will get to select a Strada Easel of their choice!
The rules: Do a painting or drawing from life each day (i.e. a work of art done while you are looking at the subject from life-not from a photo or imagination). These subjects may include still life, interiors, figure, and landscapes.
I love the light that comes through the blinds and creates shadows on the walls. Thought I'd try to capture it...
Starting with the plant in the front left corner, clockwise, the plants on my little table are... my favorite houseplant, a Prayer Plant (I have always had one in my home since the early 70's...), English Ivy in back, a spindly little poinsettia that my good friend Ginnie gave me two years ago (sadly she is gone now) and a little houseplant with yellow-speckled leaves.

Did a little color adjustments, converted the statue to a stone statue, and added a couple little surprises from previous challenges. Can you find them?
First photo of a new weekly challenge with /insecticidasparadragones and /J0R63.
Each week one topic, and each one of us have to adapt it to his own photo serie.
My first try isn't spectacular, I think that if this challenge go well, probably this photo finally will be a discard. But for now here it is.
