Come experience remarkable Big Island Tours in Hawaii!
A visit to Hawaii's Big Island isn't complete without enjoying several of the Big Island excursions. From volcanos to kayaking and surfing to birdwatching, there really are simply so many things to do that you'll never get tired while checking out this tropical paradise of the 50th state.
Hawaii, or the Big Island, is the most extensive island in the U.S., consisting of 4,028 square miles. At 62 percent of all Hawaii's landmass, it is certainly bigger than each of the other Hawaiian islands, put together. Five distinct shield volcanoes are on the Island of Hawaii. Two of the volcanoes, Mauna Loa and Kilauea, are active and spew lava, which creates new land. An additional 543 acres of land was actually added to the Big Island between 1983 and 2002. It simply makes good sense to take in some volcano Big Island trips while you're on the Island of Hawaii and certainly there are a number of to pick from to best suit your timeline and tastes.
With just 50 minutes of your time, you are able to take the DOORS OFF !! 50-minute Big Island Helicopter Flight and get a bird's eye perspective of active volcanoes. Leaving from the city of Hilo, on the northeast side of the Big Island, you're taken up in a chopper that seats 4 people. A two-way headset makes it possible for you to communicate with the pilot, who offers you a tour of the volcanoes and the Island of Hawaii. Even though you're several hundred feet above the very hot lava surging from the volcano, with the door off of your helicopter on this particular activity, you'll be able to really feel the volcano's temperature. Various sights provide the sweeping rain forest, waterfalls, streams and the wide stretch of Pacific Ocean.

With the uninspiring weather outside I tried a few macro shots in the workshop.
These are taken with an 18-55mm kit lens taped to a 50mm

"Chain me with your views ,
and i bet, i shall break loose!"
In the love of Bokehs ...if there's no human (i.e. a subject) to shoot, and if your lens doesn't really give good bokehs at such long ranges required for subjects as enormous as humans - why not just pick "any object" as your subject! :D
My dad and I stumbled upon this little guy while digging out our push mower from the storage shed. He had coiled himself up through the links in the snow chains for the snow blower. I'm not entirely sure what kind of garter snake this is, since there's a huge variety.
My in-laws have decided to take all the grandkids (and their families) to Disneyland next year. My kids were so excited that they created a paper chain. It started with 396 links. As of this photo, it has 394 links
